Encore Pro Question

Post by SnoreNoMore2005 » Wed Aug 03, 2005 2:54 pm

Yesterday, I installed Encore Pro and uploaded my Smartcard data for my Remstar Autopap with C-Flex.

My question is:

Once I download my new sleep data, does the download process automatically delete the prior history data from the smartcard or would I have to use the utilities menu to delete the data? I just don't want to download last night's data and find that I had erased my prior history from the card or from the hard drive.

Thanks for your help.

See Derek's suggestion on this:

"Respironics provides a pair of simple "scripts" in its Utilities directory (folder) that allow you to change this behavior and download without erasing.

To do this you will need to navigate to the Encore Pro utilities directory through My Computer. If you accepted the default path on installation it will be C:\Program Files\Respironics\Encore Pro\Utilities. In this folder you will find two files:

Don't erase Data After download.reg and Erase data after download.reg.

All you have to do to change the behavior of Encore Pro is double-click on the appropriate file. You will be asked to confirm your action.

If you choose to not automatically erase data after download, you will be prompted after each download. I believe that this is the better mode to work in, and I have my system set up that way."

You may also want to use his MyEncore software...much easier to use and interpret. It's available on our forum at the Announcements...

Jim, thanks so much for the help. It was an easy fix once you told me what to do.

However, I uploaded my last two months of data yesterday on my office computer before I posted the question. When I uploaded my data on my home computer today, all I got was last night's data. Is there any way to restore the data from the smart card? I'd like to be able to combine all data onto my home computer.

Any ideas on how I can consolidate the different data that now resides on two different computers?

I set the switch to not erase data from the smartcard, but the cow is already out of the barn 'so to speak'.

Thanks again

Copy the file *.XLS (file name is last name first name you entered into encore pro to id yourself) from your office computer and do an import patient on your home computer.

Another question

Thanks Jim, I'll try that from the office tomorrow.

Another question:

I wanted to review the tutorial again. However, when I launch (double click) the program, it goes directly to the home page. How do I get back to the tutorial? I couldn't find any reference to it in under Help.

Thank you

Believe you'll have to do that directly off the Encore Pro CD. Just stop/cancel install if your CD autostarts the setup.

xls file

Post by SnoreNoMore2005 » Thu Aug 04, 2005 3:53 pm

Jim, I searched my hard drive for an *.xls file and nothing comes up that matches the date I uploaded the file or that matches myname*.xls.

Is the file in the Respironics folder? The only file with the matching date in the Respironics folder is the install.log file.

What is the name of the data file I imported and what folder would it be stored in?

**New** I found a file in my c:\ folder called "xmlserver.xml". I am going to e-mail it to my home computer and try it tonight.

Thank you

Do an export patient at the office to create the *.xls file then copy it to transport/e-mail home. Not sure what the server.xls file is??? Have never checked it out.

Yow! Those Following This Thread:

I went off the top of my head and put *.XLS but file is actually *.XML If you don't have this file you can do an export patient which will save the data file...that way later if you need to restore it's essentially a backup of all data to the point you did the export patient save.

Worked

Post by SnoreNoMore2005 » Fri Aug 05, 2005 7:50 pm

Worked like a champ once I know what file name to look for and understood the import / export patient feature.

Thanks for all your help.

Just curious though: I noticed that the two different uploads I have are viewed as separate reports. I assume every time I import new data, it will be viewed as a separate report and not as a trend or comparison with the previous data imports?

Can the reports be concatanated or is that what Derek's My Encore plug-in is for?

I had same issue but now have database all available to EncorePro and MyEncore...not sure which step I did though accomplished it. EncorePro is apparently geared toward multiple patients not really ongoing treatment data flexibility for one patient...seems to have some wierd quirks. I would definitely download Derek's software as it provides more and much easier to interpret info using EncorePro database.
