Derek's MyEncore Software Now Hosted on cpaptalk.com
We are pleased to announce that cpaptalk.com is now the official home of Derek's MyEncore software.
MyEncore is a free add-on program for users of Respironics Encore Pro. It provides user-friendly long-term plots of sleep therapy details from multiple downloads, which Encore Pro cannot do. Please note, however, that MyEncore is not a substitute for Encore Pro - it simply interrogates the Encore Pro database and presents the data in a different format.
The MyEncore software project and download web site is:
myencore.php
Thank very much to Derek for all his hard work!
Johnny

[quote="Winston"]Does Respironics support this software? Does the encore or myencore show how to adjust your pressure if needed? Can the downloads be sent to my sleep doc over the internet?
My Encore is a seperate program created by Derek to suppliment the Encore software. It is not a Respironics software but if you read about it, you will see Derek contacted them about it. If you have the Encore software and your particular machine has the smartcard for Respironic, it is possible to change the settings through the software and smartcard. It can be set manually by looking at the service providers manual. Usually, you hold two buttons when you power it on to enter the provider mode. With the software you can create pdf files and email them to your doctor. Hope this helps some. Others may be more informed than me and provide more information.

I found the following on the Respironic site. Is it legal for me to buy your software? I do not want any warranty problems with Respironics. I appreciate all the information I can get before investing.
Encore® Pro Software
The improved functionality of the Encore® Pro SmartCard® and the power of Encore Pro software gave us the opportunity to tailor some of Encore Pro's reporting capabilities to specific operating capabilities of different devices. For instance you can program the SmartCard to change the therapy mode of a BiPAP® Pro from bi-level to Bi-FlexTM without ever taking the device in for servicing.
Caution: U.S. federal law restricts these devices to sale by or on the order of a physician. Part No: 1014927
Unit of Measure: each
Shipping Weight: 1 lb.

Whose software are you talking about buying? Derek's software is free for downloading. Cpap.com sells Respironics Encore software, I purchased it myself, so I assume it is legal. Encore is basically sold for the sleep lab and physician and you would probably receive very little if any support from Respironics concerning the software. I emailed Respironics concerning the Encore and they said they do not offer support to individuals. That's why this site is a good source for any problems you could have with it, from other users.

Possible Additions to "My Encore" Software ...
I was using the Encore Pro Software, to "Assemble" a Report, for a certain # of days, of my Remstar Auto Data [usually one specific Month].
I am keeping a "Running Yearly Record" of my Data, & periodically give copies of it, to my Sleep Nurse, at the VA. They are aware that I have a copy of Encore Pro, & that I "Know" how to Program my own Machine. They are ALSO aware, that I don't do so, without consulting with them, first.
They seem OK, with this ... they don't seem to consult these CPAP Websites, but are quite interested in any Information, I pass on, myself. They say they are "too Busy" to do this themselves ...
Anyway, I was Exporting Data to a PDF File, & then "assembling the Pages", into a coherent Report [removing Redundant Pages]. Since the Smart card "Rolls Over" the "Daily Charts", after about 6 days, I have to assemble the Charts, from multiple PDF Exports, to get a Month's worth into one Document ...
The rest of the "Compliance", & "Long Term Trends", Roll Over [on the Smart card], after about 9 months ... while the "Daily Charts" roll over, about every 6-7 days, like I said before.
All this Information, DOES remain in the Computer, for the 9 months that the "Long Term" information is retained ... even though the display of the "Daily Charts" part, shifts, every 6 days.
This has made it kind if awkward to assemble Month - long Blocks of Information. I devised a "System" for doing so, with the use of Adobe Acrobat in combination with Scansoft's "Paper Port" ...
The "My Encore" Program has made some of this "Assembly" easier, because I can access longer periods of "Daily Information" Charts at one time, than thru Encore Pro directly. I no longer have to deal with the "6 Day Shift". I can directly assemble "Monthly Blocks" of Data, by selecting the # of days "My Encore" scans ... in the "Preferences".
The "Daily Information", & the "Long Term Trends", display on the same Charts, according to whatever "Tab" you select. The Charts are easier to interpret. The "Total AHI" doesn't display on the "Daily Reports" tab, but that can be found, on the "AHI" tab ...
There seems to be NO WAY to Export the Charts, to a PDF File, directly [within "My Encore". It would be Nice, to have this Program, ALL this Information, each Chart on a separate Page, so I could "Assemble" the Data, like I described above. At least, it would help to be able to Export the Charts INDIVIDUALLY to PDF, even if you couldn't Export the whole "Block" of Data, in one piece.
As it is, all you can do, is "Print" Individual Charts! I suppose I could "Print" them to Acrobat Distiller ... but I figured out a "simpler" way ... This STILL requires a couple of "Supplementary programs", that would be unnecessary, if the "My Encore" could Export DIRECTLY to PDF, like Encore Pro can!
I have a simple Screen Capture Program that defines a specific part of ANY Computer Screen [either ONLINE, OR OFFLINE], & save it to a *.bmp File. So I can Copy each individual "My Encore" Chart into Paper Port, line them up the way I want them, Duplicate them into "PDF Items", & "Stack" these PDF Pages, into a single "PDF Document" ...
Some of these steps could be simplified, by making "My Encore" capable of direct "PDF Export"!. I am able to set up a decent Database of my CPAP Data, but these "Steps" I outlined, would make it a HELL of a lot simpler! Even so, the "My Encore" Program, has helped a LOT ... THANKS!

Question for Derek: Given the lack of individual user support from Respironics, is there any way that we might find out about and acquire updates to the software when they're released?
I'm expecting (for no particular reason) that improvements will occur, such as following your lead in making selectable data date ranges available for reporting instead of individual download interaction detail data.
Thanks for My Encore, it's very helpful!

Bruce, this might help. Here's where Respironics puts their updates to Encore Pro software:

MyEncore Error Messages
Is there anyone here that is able to tell me how to solve an error message that I am getting when I launch MyEncore software? Also, some of the charts are blank??? I am NOT having any problems with the Encore Pro software. Any help as to who is familiar with MyEncore software would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Doug
