MyEncore Questions

Post by Macishman » Mon Jul 25, 2005 10:03 pm

Can I get questions related to MyEncore software answered here? As I look in the software itself, there doesn't seem to be much troubleshooting info.

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, together we got my smart card reader to work. Is this the proper place to ask for help with my next hurdle?

My goodness, you seem to be having a run of bad luck with all these programs.... Hang in there!

I would suggest you start with this link:

MyEncore

then go here:

Installation Problem Resolved

then try here:

MyEncore thread

and if none of that addresses your particular issues, you can try sending the author, derek, a PM so you may converse directly.

Thanks for the links. I still count myself VERY lucky to have found this forum, so a little bit of growing pains along the way is worth it.

I read through the site already, and then read the further material. However, they don't cover my problem, but since they linked to Derek's post, I emailed him directly.

In case he's unable to help, here's a summary. My problem is that MyEncore is not importing all of the data that Encore Pro says is there. Encore Pro displays data going back to 7/14 whereas MyEncore says the first date in the database is 7/21.

Not the end of the world, but I'm trying to get 2 weeks worth of CPAP usage data, before I switch to APAP for 2 weeks. My Doctor also wants to compare the results from Encore Pro. So I would just be futher down the line of this test if I can get MyEncore to recognize the full data set.

Even when you click on the date fields and manually select the older date from the calendar? MyEncore uses whatever data Encore Pro has downloaded to your hard drive.

If you mean the date fields in MyEncore, that software seems to insist that there is no earlier date. Clicking manually on the calendar does not override the 21st as the first day of data.

Some questions and thoughts. (but no definite answer)

What was the first day you downloaded data from your card?
I believe you said that the Encore Pro data went back to the 14th....?
Some of the other questions I was wondering about is if the Pro version is showing the oldest data each morning you download it? When the download is complete, Pro asks whether to erase the data from the card. Could it have been erased? I'm not sure if Pro appends the new data to the existing database or overlays the entire file with whatever is on the card. I haven't erased my card so I don't know what it does with that previous data in the SQL database at that point..

Derek may have to answer why that's happening.

Maybe I got the answer to the first question. Looks like the 25th may have been your first download date after you got your cardreader working.

Right, the 25th was the first day I downloaded data.

I tried to tell the Encore Pro software that I did not want the card erased (some choice about will the patient receive the card back), but not sure on that count since I have not yet hooked it up again. Would it indicate anything that might help with this problem if I did?

I sent Derek email. Fingers crossed that he got it and has time to think on it.

Since you've apparently got data to look at in the Encore Pro reports, that's a good sign. Why the MyEncore isn't looking prior to the 21st is a mystery to me. On the left hand side of the screen (of MyEncore), there's a beginning and ending date. On mine, the dates are 05/14 (the date I began collecting data on my card) and the ending date always "defaults" to the date I installed the software (06/16). I then have to select the ending (current) date with the pop-down calendar. Not a problem. Erasing the data from the card wouldn't necessarily be a big deal and obviously wouldn't affect what you've already downloaded. I just haven't felt the need to erase mine and don't know how it would affect any future data that would be downloaded. I would think that it would append the database and not remove what's already there.

I'll be interested to hear what Derek has to say.

Keep us informed.
