HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
Wow... what else can I say.
This whole deal with Resmed as pointed out in this thread just strikes me as making it a little more difficult for the patient and customer. I don't have much confidence with an outfit that would make it harder for the patient... first by limiting the software and now with this move.

Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
I ordered an Activa LT from here on the weekend because they cost $86. here and $255. in Canada. I am only allowed one mask a year and my Activa cushion is good for about 3 months. I have told my insurer about the difference in prices. They actually reimbursed me for my cpap.com order from a couple of years ago but nothing has changed.
I got an email Monday morning from cpap.com telling me they would not be able to ship my order to Canada and asked me if I know someone in the US where they could ship it and then have that person ship it to me. I do have a sister living in the US but wondered if there would be a problem with customs regarding medical equipment so I just decided to can the whole idea and let my DME pay.

Ozij,
2006 is what I found and remembered -
"This is like deja vu all over again." if we can quote Yogi Berra
But it looks like with the new cpap.com Rx requirement for masks and humidifiers there are now more restrictions on cpap.com being imposed I assume by the manufacturers

I agree, jules.
I wonder if it's "the manufacturers" or one of them, with an axe to grind... Remember that nyah nyah nyah guest with his / her "just you wait and see" a few weeks ago?
And then of course there is this Australian company - ResMed - who had a batch of bad nasal pillows on their leading mask...
All it takes is one manufacturer to want to cause trouble - and we know which manufacturer this was in the past.
O.

Fitdiculous,
If it is only ResMed products that cannot be shipped you might want to try the Opus 360 mask. I preferred this to ResMeds mask as it is more comfortable and I have virtually no leaks. Good luck!!

Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
Just spoke with my DME - they say there's no issue with getting ResMed products in Canada, they are receiving shipments and have heard nothing about ResMed discontinuing shipments to Canada.
Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
Discontinuing shipments to PATIENTS, not DME's - that never was an issue.

Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll take a look into this. I just hate setting up appointments with my DME. They are completely useless and a pain to deal with. But I guess if I want to try on masks etc... that's what I'll have to do.Sleepy Taz wrote:Fitdiculous,

Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
basically what Julie said, sorry maybe I wasn't clear in my original post.... I believe RESMED themselves are still supplying to Canadian DME's, BUT distributors of RESMED prodcuts in the US won't/cannot ship to Canadian patients AND DME'sMoneyGal wrote:Just spoke with my DME - they say there's no issue with getting ResMed products in Canada, they are receiving shipments and have heard nothing about ResMed discontinuing shipments to Canada.
Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
Oh! Sorry. I misunderstood. Thanks for the clarification! I will probably price-compare and look for a Buffalo supplier when I next replace my mask...or see if I can continue to get very reasonable prices from my DME.

Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada
I have been sitting back and reading the forum for a few weeks educating myself while I wait for my Rx and I thought I would chime in on this one.
As an online shopping addict I get frustrated by vendors who don’t ship to Canada so I keep a mailbox in Niagara Fall. http://www.usaddressinc.com/
But there are services such as bongus.com that you ship your package to (within the US) and they forward to you for a fee. For low value items there service would be considered expensive but for high value orders such as a CPAP machine it wouldn’t be considered much.
Hope the links are allowed. Not trying to promote anything, just trying to help out my fellow Canadians.
