Encore Viewer question

Post by wlk » Thu Sep 04, 2008 6:49 pm

I just installed Encore Viewer and generated my first report.
I selected "print to file" and it placed the report on my desktop. What is the file type? Can it be converted to PDF? If not, how can it be viewed by people who do not have Encore viewer?

were you going to post it here or email it to someone?

if you were to post it here, you can do screen shots (alt and print screen at same time), then paste that into a program such as paint, save the jpg (you can edit out stuff there too), and upload it to the internet at a site such as photobucket and then post the images or the links to the images

if you were to email it to someone, you need to know they can open it - there are ppl who have suggested some freebies to make pdf's - don't recall the name - I know I got an encore viewer report via email from someone, had was able to open what was sent me using a tool in microsoft office but not everyone has microsoft office (I don't have it on my spouse's computer for example)

I am sure someone will chime in on what the freebie pdf creator is -

the Pro version allows you to print to PDF from the main menu.

but if yours doesn't have that you can download CutePDF writer and install it as a optional printer, then print to it and it will ask you for a file name before it prints and it saves it as a PDF document.

The Pro version used to allow you to also save it to a html file but I never used that.

Here is last nights report. Looks like the therapy is working great! A far cry from my 118 AHI at the sleep study!
I will look into the pdf software. Thanks!! My sister is a medical administrator and wants to see my reports.

looks like you got it figured out - you can email your sister the link for the pictures too or just email her the pictures if you don't get the pdf thing figured out fast

I tried CutePDF and a few others but I only get PDF documents in black and white. Is there something special that needs to be done to get PDF's in color?

I tried CutePDf, and my initial attempt had badly scrambled text. The CutePDF website had the following suggestion...
Text characters are wrong or missing in generated PDF file.
On Win2000/XP boxes, select CutePDF Writer properties in the application print dialog box and click "Advanced". Select "Download as Softfont" (default is "Substitute with Device Fonts") on TrueType Fonts setting for font embedding.
That fixed it. My session data is now available as a full color PDF.

Thanks snoredog!!!

And thanks to all on this forum who help the newbies

Wow, what a report... I've only been on here for about 6 weeks (but I am a full-time viewer... & this is the cleanest graph and lowest AHI value I have seen - I was actually wondering if you were still alive when I first looked at it!

AHI of 118 down to an AHI of 0.1 is awesome - how long have you been on the machine & is this typical of the results you are seeing each day ?

About 10 hours straight sleep on the hose also - I would be happy if I could manage 6 straight hours at the moment!

Congrats

Mike

I have been on CPAP since February of this year. I have used the Pro machine for one week now, and the data results have been mostly the same. The first night on the Pro machineI had a significant mask leak, but have managed to keep the leaks to a minimun since.
