Post by Surly Abond » Sat Jun 18, 2005 7:09 pm

Hello posting friends,

I have used breatheing maching from february 2005. I use Tyco automatic machine and Resmed Ultra Mirage interface. I wish to aquire new interface. Many posters speak of Activa, Aura and Swift interface. I wish to consider these devices. Are these devices usefull with Tyco automatic breatheing machine ? Are other devices more usefull ? What is device name ?

Thank you for very much kindness.

Many Blessing,

Surly, I am not familiar with the Tyco but I would have a hard time believing the Swift or Activa would not work. They are both excellent interfaces. I am not a fan of the Aura, to hard to ge headgear to work, I am not a fan of pasnty hose around my head.

Tyco is what they call the 420 in some parts of the world. Surly is in India.

Welcome Surly,

I have the Resmed Activa, And the Aura mask. The Activa is the easiest to use. The Aura works well but takes major madification.
Check out my method of using panty hose to keep the Aura in place.

Surly, Panty Hose are .......Ladies Nylons or stockings, undergarments..Your wife may have these . If she doesn't you may find them in a ladies clothing store. It is made of a very thin stretchable material, nearly invisible. Like No see-em netting or mosqueto netting but very elastic.

Ionizer is crazy but has come thru before. Sounds like it might just work.

Good luck

Many Blessings to you also Surly

Hi Surly,
Your automatic machine is produced by Puritan Bennett, part of Tyco Healthcare, it's called GoodKnight 420E - correct me if I'm wrong.

Puritan Bennett also produce the "Breeze" interface, which many here (myself included) like.

Hi Surly,

Yes... the Activa, Aura and Swift interfaces are ok to use with your Tyco breathing machine.

Another very good interface to use with your Tyco is the Breeze with nasal pillows. Don't get the Breeze "Dreamseal".

I suggest you try the interfaces in this order:

1. Swift
2. Activa
3. Breeze
4. Aura

That is not the order in which I personally prefer them myself, but I think that would be a good order for others to try them, since the Swift suits many people in so many ways.

As chrisp and ozij mentioned, Puritan Bennett is under the umbrella of the "Tyco" company. The specific machine Surly has is the Puritan Bennett Goodknight 420E autopap.
