newbe help on resp. pro M

Post by ywp » Sun Oct 07, 2007 1:05 pm

I been trying to adjust to this new life on cpap, and have been trying some slight adjustments on the machine. I can take the smart card weekly to my provider for a print out.

I would like to look at last night data on the LCD screen, but it will only show weekly and total averages. Any way I can change it to last night display?

A second question for any technical people out there. How does this machine sense and determine the AHI or HPI. And is this fairly reliable?

Thanks

You can follow Snoredog's instructions for resetting to zero so that the data you check on the LCD the next morning will be just from the previous night.

==========Resetting LCD Display Data====================

To reset LCD Therapy data (does NOT erase any data from SmartCard):

1. Hold down the (<-) (->) buttons while plugging in the power on the back,
wait for 2 beeps or 5 seconds, release buttons.
2. Press the (->) key and navigate to Therapy screen.
3. Press and HOLD down the (-) minus key for 5 seconds and/or until therapy data is reset to Zero.
4. Press the (->) key to scroll back to main menu, press (+) key to enter Setup or
On/Off button to exit.

As good as the Respironics machines are, I think the M series designers missed the boat when they left out "daily" results for the LCD display.

On the other hand, Respironics has done a wonderfully helpful thing in recently creating Encore Viewer -- software anyone can buy (no Rx needed, btw) to get an even better look at our overnight data than an LCD could ever give, even if the LCD did show "daily" data.

The least expensive place I know of to buy the necessary card reader is here:

ResMed S9 VPAP Auto (ASV)
Humidifier: Integrated + Climate Control hose
Mask: Aeiomed Headrest (deconstructed, with homemade straps
3M painters tape over mouth

Thanks rested gal and snore dog for the instructions.

The way they hide information it feels like a con game similar to magnet or ion thearpy
