Those damn picture grids filter out the visually impaired, or just those of us with old eyes.
Not fair!
I just move on to a site that doesn't use Robot checks, they aren't worth the hassle,it's a big internet out there. Jim

This is getting ridiculous ..It's taking 20-25 seconds for the page to change on this board.

I have made this topic a sticky for now.

The forum software is still messed up. On a rare occasion I don't get the double post thing but everything else is pretty much unchanged.
Lots of SQL errors and extremely slow interchange with anything I do.
So on occasion I can post without the double post thing but that is a random rare thing thing...otherwise essentially unchanged.

No posts at all for the last hour and 20 minutes.
Will this one "take"?
I guess I am alone here--and with my lousy internet!

Yep. I too have noticed that the forum pages refresh super slow since a couple of days ago.

Not only that, the OT political thread disappeared ... I got this error message:

I had also noticed yesterday when looking at who was online that there was one with a username (I can't remember) ... but it had [BOT] after the username. Maybe the server got infected?

Anyway, I know you're busy Pugsy, if you want I can restart another OT thread and list all of your rules on the first post. Let me know.

The bots also notice when we mention products, so we can receive ads about those products.

I have had four "I am not a robot" checks this morning.
I just hit reload and go straight to fresh forum page.
No robot check.
Kind of defeating the purpose. :?
Fine with me. :D

I had multiple "I am not a robot" last night.
I am still having the double post stuff even this morning.
And still slow to load.

I have also had to remove double posts by others when I know they didn't post twice.
Kiralynx new thread showed up 4 times yesterday. I removed the surplus.

I also am receiving double PMs as well. Pretty sure the sender isn't sending things twice.

Things are still thoroughly screwed up.

So basically these bots are hacking in to loot the data off the forum server? All this looting everywhere just needs to stop already!

Oh wow ... maybe they're the ones who looted the OT political thread too then huh? Just waltzed right off the forum with it .... just like that!

So I guess it's ok to start another since they aren't likely to bring that thread back right Pugsy?

Well .... I guess somebody left the door wide open, again. And the looters are making off with the forum data, again.

Web Crawling bots...they aren't doing anything bad. They have been around for as long as I can remember.
It's because of the content they glean that this forum will get hits when search engines look for something.
They have rules they have to follow as well.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_crawler

Now there is a current problem with the forum software. It's buggier than all hell. No away around that but that is beyond my scope of powers to do anything about other than tell Carolyn "it still isn't fixed".

This topic/thread is for reporting those bugs if someone is still having issues with the bugs. That is all this topic is for.
I already asked earlier that people stay on topic as this particular topic is sort of a big deal. It affects everyone's experience here when the forum software acts up. The IT people shouldn't have to wade through OT chit chat to find out what problems people are still having.
It makes their job even harder to do.

So if not reporting a specific bug....please don't muddy the thread. Thank you in advance for remembering to stay on topic.

Howdy all - IT has been working on this. They are going to do a server reboot tonight at 10pm Central.

The site will likely be down 10 - 30 min.

Please report back tomorrow (11/4) if you are still seeing the same issues. Crossing fingers this will help!
