I want to hear some really good stories when Sandy has passed over you.

If Sandy passed over them, they most likely will not have power.

Originally I was going to say when you get power back, but then someone might feel l was predicting disaster. I can predict disaster funds for all who got a bit of the storm, it is election time.

I have heard reports of maybe seven million without electricity.

Hi all from central Virginia. We had power out over night, (I was prepared) and it came back on this morning. We have a few trees behind us in the woods that came down or broke off. No damage here at our home and little damage in our area. So for central Virginia, we had a few really impressive gusts of wind, but it really did not last all night long and it is just cool and a little breezy this morning with sprinkles. I think it is done here.

Thanks for your caring, I know that the people on the coast and farther north are suffering much worse. Prayers for all the people scared or hurt by this hurricane.

Karen

Hi all. I am in Wilmington DE. I was as ready as I could be (generator, fuel, extensions cords, food, water et al). It was a crazy day. From 6:00am when we woke up till 10 when we finally went to bed, we had wind and rain. We are not in a flood plane but the amount of rain we got more than made up for it. The sump pump was running quite frequently. There was power outages all around us due to trees and tree limbs taking down lines, but as I said we escaped all that. Today will be clean up and tidy up. I noticed that with the driving rain some rain water seeped in through the front window. That will be a fun thing to find and fix with caulk.

Oh well....could have been worse.

Here in Western PA we seem to have been spared any major issues thankfully. Just a lot of rain on and off and some wind over night but it seems to have subsided for the most part. No power outages noted in my county or the surrounding counties.

Hope everyone else is weathering the storm. Best wishes!

Never lost power where I live in northeastern CT but there are 470,000 without power today in my state. Lots of howling wind last night, some trees fell at my sister's house but fortunately only a fence was damaged.

It's always good to hear about folks who didn't have to forgo therapy,
or have damage to their homes/vehicles.
Frequent tornadoes here make us familiar to the terrible wrath of nature.

I definitely agree with you CF. I've been thinking about that this whole time.

Had to spend last night without CPAP (no power). What a crappy night sleep. It has made me more appreciate that CPAP is what I need.
Thankfully, power has been restored, looking forward to a better night's sleep.
Hope everyone made it through Sandy, safely.

My son just sent me this from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

Like the Realtors say, "Location, Location, Location."

He sent me the following one which was circulating around the campus yesterday:
