Update on spitting out carpet tacks...

Post by Joy_Of_Sleep » Fri Feb 06, 2009 11:04 am

It took a lot of phone calls back and forth, and the DME is on the defensive, but talking to me as if I have a brain in my head. And I have on my nightstand a Remstar M Series Auto C-PAP C-Flex, at the request of my sleep doctor's nurse practitioner. Another victory for the patient and consumer!

It is a victory for you... congratulations!

But, I see this happen time and time again... a battle with the DME. It will be a true victory for patients and consumers when this all stops being a battle and more of a partnership for the good of the patients health.

It certain is not good for the health when going through all this is so stressful.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Doesn't it feel good!
YOU are in charge now, and they know it.

You're on your way to optimizing your therapy
and your new life.

......did I say......

CONGRATULATIONS!

to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
I said that.

When I had my second titration to determine pressure, I asked the DME if I would be able to read the data off of my machine. She said that I didn't need to because I would know if it was working by the way I felt. I was pretty naive then and said okay. Now I know that I should have insisted on a data readable machine. Something is not working for me because I am still very tired and sleepy during the day.

I congratulate you on educating yourself and your victory.

What data did you take possession of your CPAP, LibraryTeacher? If you can squeak in under 45 days you can probably still force the issue. The local DME suppliers can't really bill most insurances in less than 45 days to allow for 30 days compliance proof and the billing cycles. Or swallow one month's full cost of xPAP rental and switch local DME suppliers but you gotta do it NOW.
