We did this awhile back but with all the newbies it would be interesting again.

I have in addition to my SA, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn's, Atrial Fib, Restless Leg Syndrome, imsomnia poor eyesight and a tendency to diabetes and somewhat of a weight problem.

In addition to SA, I have fibromyalgia, RLS, insomnia, depression and am 20 lbs overweight. My eyesight is worsening (which I thought was age related; I'm 46) but now that I saw that other study I'm going to get them checked.

In addition to SA, I have Diverticulitis and have had colon surgery and back surgery for a ruptured disc. I also suffer from slight depression/anxiety, and I'm also a bit overweight (which probably contributed to most of the other ailments that I have). At my last checkup with doctor turned he said that I have high cholesterol, and he mentioned that if I don't get my weight down, and start exercising I would have to go on cholesterol meds (which I don't want to do). So, it's back to dieting and exercising, which will hopefully help.

That's my story, and I'm stickin to it.

Besides SA, I am quite a bit overweight, probably 125lbs. overweight. Possible diabetes, will see the doc about it next week. I have a tingling and sometimes pain in my feet and lower legs, which goes away when I get into bed. I also have GERD, and lingering effects of Belles Palsey from 4 years ago.

Just got my results from my titration in the mail today, they said CPAP at 13, but monitor closely. Sounds like a good candidate for an APAP, to me....?

Well, i have Post-Polio Syndrome, High BP, slight to moderate Type II Diabetes, RLS (Restless Everything Syndrome ).

This will be interesting because I have found (and counselled) people who have a specific cluster of problems that echo the symptoms of post-polio, that they may actually have PPS. Those symptoms include diagnoses of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, scoliosis/ketosis, asthma or SA, RLS, beginnings of memory loss (and they are afraid to mention it because they think it's the beginnings of Altzheimers), depression. This also can include things like rolling over on the ankles when a person walks and the absence of a waist-line (Polio weakened the oblique abs muscles, so no matter how thin or fat, there is no waistline.) While any of these can obviously be a disease or disorder of itself, the cluster points strongly to PPS as these are the most common symptoms of post-polio - even when people are not aware that they have had the initial polio infection.

Thank you for starting this thread. I will be watching it very closely!

Wow, I'm not sure there's enough space for all of my ailments. First off, I have trouble seeing the screen of a computer (which is why I use bold settings for my postings). I have glaucoma, anxiety/depression, gerd, high blood pressure, morbid obesity (about 100 lbs overweight), hiatel hernia, restless leg syndrome, carpel tunnel in my wrists, and diverticulitis<p>.
I guess it really didn't surprise me when I was diagnosed with sleep apnea because I had just about every other problem in the medical journals...lol
I tried to have gastric bypass surgery, but due to unexplained anemia I was turned down. I'm hoping that once the apnea is under control I will have some energy to start walking so maybe I'll have a chance of losing weight.

Wow. Thanks for starting this thread! Sometimes, I feel so alone in my ailments. It just seems so rediculous that I am 35 with such a long list of issues. Anyway, here goes: OSA, RLS, Severe allergies, chronic sinusitis, depression, hypothyroidism, GERD, insomnia, and having surgery next week on a ruptured ankle ligament/old chip fracture. Have also had gall stones, carpal tunnel, recurrent severe infections. I could complain for hours and rival most of my much older friends in their list, and it frequently happens that one thing is taken care of and another pops up. Oh, well, sorry. I'm just stuck in a rut now.

This is my first post and I have just been diagnosed with OSA I am still in the process of getting and titrating my CPAP. I chose the Tiara SNAPP innerface. wondering if that was a good choice. It seemed less confining than a mask. Anyway in addition to OSA I have Diverticulitis, carpal tunnel both wrists, High blood pressure, am over weight by more than 100 lbs, have tacycardia, and palpitations, gallbladder removed two years ago and a hernia repair. I am divorced and children have left home one for his own apartment and the other in the Air Force. So there is a little feeling lonely here too but can't say that I am depressed.

I only have high blood pressure and angular glaucoma. Fortunately, they caught the glaucoma on a routine eye exam and I have no noticeable loss of eyesight for which I am greatful. I also am about 80 pounds overweight and have also had kidney stones several times although I haven't had kidney stones in 15 years. Let me tell you, that ain't no fun!!! I'm greatful for the health that I do have.

Age - 50
Diagnosed with OSA December 23, 2004 (cpap pressure 17)
Enlarged left tonsil (I guess this is permanent - after tonsilitis it never returned to normal; this is why I was sent to ENT who ordered sleep test)
Overweight 125 lbs (improved with cpap; able to exercise-lost 25 lbs)
Dry Eyes (improved with cpap)
Far Sighted (reading glasses 5 years; no improvement with cpap)
Cholesterol - 212 (no test since cpap; no meds)
Borderline Diabetes (no test since cpap; no meds)
Carpal Tunnel (right wrist - no improvement with cpap)
Trigger finger (left ring finger - started after cpap)
The Change (cpap made hot flashes worse; improved depression and anxiety; no help for sexual drive)
Sinus problems with nagging cough, dizziness, morning headaches (very much improved with cpap)
Housekeeperitis (improved slightly with cpap)

I LOVE MY CPAP

Bunch of sickos on this thread. Not me I tell you - no way!

Peak of health I am and very very handsome if you must know. This has led to some minor difficulty in my life what with my Hollywood agents, fans and of course the damn paparazzi. One of those buggers got so close with his camera he hit me in the eye. To protect myself in future I had my retina detached and for protection had a plastic shield inserted. Let em come at me now with their cameras.

The fans too, are a real problem. They don't seem to understand I am a person too with my own feelings. Always clamoring to touch me and yank on my skin and hair. Idiots pulled all the hair off my head and now can only seem to grow it on my ears and in my nose. Got very depressed with all this so now take 50mg Sertraline to cheer me up. Hollywood agent suggested I get some kind of a disguise so am constantly trying to change my appearance. Latest trick seems to be working as am not chased about as much anymore but the extra 75 pounds the disguise weighs seems to tire me out.

Had to adjust the disguise for some damn picture they wanted to do as the cheap bastards wouldn't buy a bigger camera lens. Found a great solution by simply getting rid of the appendix and gall bladder. You know how it is, they always want a little more so take 25mg Novohydrazide. The size of my ankles shrunk nicely and am now the right size. Pee a lot but at least I'm the right size.

While on the subject of peeing, not sure where it happened, probably some public bathroom somewhere, but some jerk stuck his finger up my ass. Scared the hell out of me and to be safe - you never know what you may catch when some guy sticks his finger up your ass, yeah it was a guy otherwise I could have understood; I have decided to get checked out, just for precaution you understand. Checking out means they shove a knife up where the jerk had his finger and chop out any infection or other things he may have left behind (did you get that pun?) Anyway I get to take 1000mg Cipro XL for 3 days - kind of adds to my already colorful breakfast which has included 250mg Biaxin this past week.

When they do all this I am going to warn them not to use too long a knife that might scare a buddy of mine I'm hiding way up there.

Better explain that. I am originally from the West, you know - where the deer and the antelope play, also cows and horses. Just love those critters and hold them close to my heart, real close. So close in fact I decided to zip out ol Arni the Aortic valve and replace it with one of my all time favorites Clarabelle the Cow. I feed Clara 10mg Norvasc just to keep her healthy and active. She can be obstinate once in a while so I zap her with a neat cattle prod I have hidden up there. It really is tough to get good help as she is always bitching about the pressure she is under. Nice guy I am I give her daily treats of 10mg Altace.

My heart was so anxious to see Clara it was just a quivering. Had to shock the damn thing several times just to get it settle down. It finally came to it's senses on the highest shock setting but am told will always feel this way about Clara.

You may be thinking there is nothing worse then looking up from below but there is.

Better explain that too. Wanted to add a little excitement in my life one day by going for a joy ride. I staged this scene, from a roll I was playing, to test people if they knew how and when to dial 911. Well they passed and I got my joy ride all right. Liked it so much I've taken 5 of them in the past 3 years and sometimes just for the hell of it I skittle down the same route my joy ride drivers take. No bells, whistles or flashing lights though so not the same effect. Back to the story - looking down from above ain't much fun either. That's where they really have the long knives so don't really know why they can't make up their minds and just use one end or the other. Probably a specialist for each end, can you believe it? So anyway, they like to take little snippets from my esophagus - thats OK as it too helps with the disguise. They really seem to get off on this sort of thing and want me back every year. As a lure they use 30mg Prevacid.

You other guys all seem to think you have, what ya call it? SA or something? Not me! Nope, just been fooling all of you. What I do have, and this stems from my acting career in Hollywood, is a mask fetish. Actually I love the thing, seems to have as much hot air as I do and some nights we really do battle. But we always kiss and make up. Am really quite possessive of Millie the Mask. So much so that I've trained my legs to be very active when asleep and kick wifey right out of bed so I can be alone with Millie. Wifey just doesn't understand!

If you made it this far, you can go to bed now!

unclebob,

I laughed, I cried, then I cried some more, then I chuckled a little bit, then I wept uncontrollably, then I dropped to the ground in a fit of hysterical laughter, and now I'm exhausted and need a nap. (By the way, not that this is a competition anyone would want to win, but man, you are so far ahead you could stop for coffee and a doughnut, then get back in the race walking backwards on your hands while blindfolded and STILL finish with a comfortable lead....)

Dear Uncle Bob,
I have never in my life had a problem with incontinence, but while reading your post I lost my bladder. I was laughing so hard my hubby came into the room to see what was going on. I knew I should go to the bathroom before I started reading the threads, but I thought,,,,,no problem,,,I can hold it another minute. Thanks Uncle Bob,,,,another thing to add to my list of ailments.
