Here is some new info. The complete part numbers for all the variations that can be ordered.

Particularly interesting is the "FitPack" including small, medium and large cushions.

I wonder how insurance will feel about paying for that?

I caught myself breathing out of the corners of my mouth last night. Weird, my lips were together in the middle... but I was sneaking exhales out of the corners of my mouth.

So I am ordering the FitPack tomorrow. It's the only way to be sure I get the ultimate fit.

Here is the answer I was looking for on how to take the mask off.

I give up

I give up

I give up

It's more seductive than the blonde in a 14 year old boy's dreams.

I ordered one this morning from cpap.

Anxious to strap that one on and give it a mattress test ... ummm ... yes talking about the mask.

I was ... really

Well I was ...

Talked again to my DME and sent them on a mission, i'm like "you can get them right now from cpap.com, call your rep and order the darn thing, enough with the BS" Told them to just order them from cpap.com on re-sell to me and bill my insurance., they looking into both options So hopefully good news soon.

I just came back from picking up a prescription from my doctor, specifically for the FitPack (since I know how the game is played).

I faxed my DME asking them to Special Order it (they previously said they would). We shall see.

I'm guessing Arizona-Willie will get it before I do. So who ever does get one, please post your review of it here.

I ordered the FitPack for the sizing options. Having all 3 in my hand will give me a shot at getting it right.

A third on-line supplier is stating the FitPack will be "shipping end of July".

I've never had a full face mask before, so we'll see how it goes.

Checked with my DME regarding my Special Order... and they said they placed it.

No time line yet.

I would be concerned about the extra strap. I'd call it a throat strap, because it's pretty far back from the chin. Don't you think that it would result in pressure against your throat? Seems as though that would be uncomfortable, especially for those of us with a bit of extra flesh in that area...

Now my DME just called me and said... it's a new mask not in there inventory and they don't know when it will be.

She told me it was available on line and she mentioned cpap.com.

But I can't buy out of network. So I am pre-suing it with Apria's corporate office. Why would they tell me it's on order... then say no we can't get it at this time.

I said I don't care how long it takes to get one.... but I have to keep calling them. They have no way to keep it on order until it becomes available.

Same of DME story.

I'm calling my insurance company next.

Well, there goes my regional theory. I had wondered if it was an east/west coast thing since HikeWV and I were having so many problems and you seemed to be having success.

Maybe if enough of us bug our DMEs for it they'll move it along a bit faster? Or maybe they're just waiting to put it up in a product challenge.

Mask was delivered to the sleep lab today....very comfy plastic, much sturdier than other Respironics masks, and chin support is much more 'supportive' than the optilife. I asked the Rep for extras and he told me he tried to get some, Respironics doesnt even have it in their system yet for the lab reps. Boo!

Do you guys have high hopes that this mask will deliver revolutionary different therapy? If so, what about its appearance or description causes you to have these hopes?

Or ....

do you just like to be the first to report on a new mask?

I guess it's just that we'll always looking for the "perfect" mask, so when a new one comes out, there are high hopes for it. It looks interesting to me, but it SO pricey. I'll await reviews from those who try it first.

I have also been wondering what the big intrigue is with this mask, other than the New-Factor. The straps have no quick release clips, and this seems to me to be a big step back in time...and kind of an amazing flaw. Velcro is a pain in the neck to get placed correctly by increments. Once "there"--why would anyone want a mask which requires you to either destroy that by pulling the Velcro loose, or to continuously over-stretch the headgear for removal????

The other thing that strikes me immediately is that the exhalation vents are positioned in such a way that at least 50% of the venting is highly likely to be blocked by your pillow when side-sleeping. YUK!

Go ahead and rant. What am I missing here?
