I am still dealing with bad post nasal drip. Does anybody know anything knew about it.
Mine apparently is caused by irritation of the roof of my mouth where I had a uvulectomy.
Any ideas or direction is greatly appreciated.

What machine are you using and what are your humidity settings? Do you have a heated hose?

I am blessed that my post nasal drip has gone away. I started taking Zyrtec (generic) several weeks ago and I found that it works.
Earlier it didn't do anything.

I had my uvula, tonsils, and deviated septum (nasal) surgery done almost 5 weeks ago. I had severe obstructive sleep apnea. It HAS helped with snoring issues and I am kept awake due to swelling in throat TRYING to sleep. I have a HIGH tolerance for pain, and your doc is absolutely correct, the surgery is rough. Once you get thru first 2-2 1/2 weeks, it sure gets better. Do not attempt to go to work in the time frame, it wont happen! Good luck!

I had my uvula removed and probably most painful surgery I ever had if I had a chance to bring back time I would never had the surgery. Not only did it not help with my sleep apena I hate my cpap machine and I can no longer make any rrrr sounds which does not help my Spanish also liguid will sometimes just go down my throat so fast I get chocked and then liquid comes back through your nose. My niece was getting ready to have surgery and I talked her out of it so glad I got to her in time.

My dentist had laser surgery to avoid cpap. (((It did NOT work!)))
I think they lasered out his uvula.
He is unable to talk and eat at the same time.

The ENT said that I have an elongated uvula that was probably caused by many years of snoring and that was the source of what I thought was post nasal drip. It doesn't happen all of the time but I am actually swallowing the end of my uvula which feels like post nasal drip. I am on a CPAP for sleep apnea and that is going well. Just wondering if anyone has had their uvula removed for the reason I stated above or to reduce snoring. My ENT told me I could either live with it or have it removed although he did warn me that there was a lot of pain involved in the throat after the surgery. He said it usually takes about three weeks to recover fully from it and again warned me that it was quite painful. He told me the decision was up to me and that I should take some time to think about it. Help me out here please, has anyone had this done or know anyone that has had it done and what are the pros and the cons. As always, thank you in advance for your help!!!!
all con no pro
i would not even consider it
I guess you have the choice of listening to your surgeon who sounds like he is being very up front with you ..or...our resident alphabet boy

There is an ENT who suggests PND after uvula removal is due to a small amount of velopharnygeal insufficiency.
