I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I've decided to take the simplest route and change from an AM to an FM station. That eliminates the interference. (Of course, I won't get the helicopter traffic reports that I rely on, but I can tune back to the all-news station I get those from once I turn off the CPAP.) Thanks again.

So I have worked in Radio for over 20 years and still love Radio. Strange thing, however. Yes I do have a clock radio, a radio, radio in my MP3 players and all yet I use none of them to listen to radio.

Me listening to radio - over the internet (direct or by podcast) - at home (various computers) or walking to wherever (via Sprint Hotspot talking to Kindle Fire HD talking to Bluetooth Headset).

I cannot say the coverage is perfect (nasty pauses sometimes). But it is nice to be able to listen to anywhere in the world anytime I want.

I am a C-pap machine spouse. Because of the radiation from the machine I had a slight stroke when we were on vacation and I had to sleep in the same room with it. At home I sleep upstairs in a different room on a different circuit and a different phase of electricity and turn off my circuit breaker. And I still get the terrible stoke effects of radiation especially with his latest machine with not only the transformer in the cord but also the bulge in the cord. This machine is deadly to me. Any suggestions what be greatly appreciated. I know six spouses that have sleep apnea machines and two of them are now dead.

I'm am sorry about your stroke, but whoever told you such a ridiculous piece of nonsense ought to be taken out and SHOT!
CPAP helps PREVENT strokes!

Radiation? How are you measuring this?

I can't tell if people are just trolling or genuinely believe this stuff.

Trust me, there are people who say such outrageous, impossible things for no sane reason at all--
and even more who are gullible enough to believe them.
Alas, the state of our schools.

Her comment "And I still get the terrible stoke effects of radiation" is a good indication that she has a health issue that is not being resolved regardless of where she thinks the effects may be coming from.

If she is actually having what she thinks are stroke like events, she should go see a Dr or visit the Emergency room as soon as possible.

People don't respond well to ridicule when looking for information. It is clear she may not understand what is going on, but I kind of doubt they will be back now even though they clearly need help. Not a good thing for what is supposed to be a help forum.

well, 1) we're not a stroke helpline nor a mental health hotline. 2) anybody raving about radiation givin 'em strokes isn't going to listen to anything we say, 3) if they are having 'terrible stroke effects' then you're quite right, they need to be in the ER, not tapping out nonsense here.

after this got posted, I got curious, and took my oscilloscope, and ran an unshielded probe around the s9 power supply, and the unit... I did detect EMF... but most of it was the 60hz field from the household wiring, much stronger than the higher freq stuff coming from those units, which, thanks to the inverse cube law, dimished very rapidly.

I pity the poor schmuck this gal is married to. I'm guessing his life is miserable.

This is absurdity to the Nth degree.
