I need help and encourgaement
Re: I need help and encourgaement
I finally had permission to drag my husband (age 44) to the doc for his sleeping. Turned out his AHI was 44. He snored so badly and I would have to jog him in the night to start breathing again. It has taken him a good 3 weeks to get used to the machine but is finally sleeping through the night....most nights. He was given the ResMed S9 and it adjusts to his breathing plus he has a nose mask with head gear. He says its terribly light and very comfortable considering. Its so quiet I can hardly believe it. Anyhow, his AHI has gone down from a 44 to 1.4. Like I mentioned it has taken a good few weeks to get used to this and the first night he lasted 2 hours if that. There are still odd nights where he rips it off at 3am but its getting much better. It seems sleep apnea is hereditary. Him mom had it and 2 of his brothers as well. I am more interested in him getting sleep than I am about him wearing this thing. The kids say he looks like a fighter pilot with it on. It now just has to be part of life...the alternative is much much worse.

I take a mild sleeping pill 1 to 1/2 hour before bed 25 milligrams (wal-mart). Wrap your hose with ace bandage to stop the rain out and turn the dial down a little.
