But not once you purchase an ASV. I suspect most insurance companies would NOT allow a new machine within 6 months of the purchase of an ASV unit. It's normally three YEARS after the purchase of an ASV unit that you can purchase another unit.

Yeah I asked when I went in for the appointment why I'd need a new one in 6 months. The RT said you won't but for that price you can have a backup or sell them since your insurance allows a new machine every 6 months to ensure you have the most up to date machine. I was kinda speechless at that so called the insurance and they said yes you can upgrade if you want but are not required to twice a year.

We wish our insurance was as good as what you have ubnoxus. I would definitely buy a back up with that type of coverage!
I wasn't lucky like you, I had to buy my machines out of pocket.

Ubnoxus must have one hell of plan or misunderstood. Most insurance companies cover a new MASK every 6 months.
I got another machine within my cadillac plan's 5 year allowance because one was straight CPAP and I was then prescribed an Auto machine.
Ubnoxus, good luck paying those high-rising premiums.

Nope didn't misunderstand, they sent me home with my eligibility sheet of what I can get when. Right off the top of my head I remember I can get a new mask every month, 4 filters a month, new hose and humidifier every 3 months, new machine every 6 months. Yes I have amazing insurance, one benefit of being my own boss I can choose my benefits insurance wise. I pay $147 a month for wife, kids and I, it has went down the last 4 years so not too worried about rising premiums.

I only paid 400.00 for my Elite S9 with all the peripherals. A grand is kind of expensive or we just
have a good market in the SF bay area.

The Elite and the VPAP Adapt are totally different machines so that's not good comparison.
The Elite retails for around $800 or so with humidifier.
The VPAP Adapt S9 retails for nearly $4,000 with humidifier.
Plus they are really hard to find on the secondary market.
