I have had a number of problems with my humidifier not working correctly from new.
Well, in normal circumstance you just return the item to the store you bought from. Not so easy I live in the UK and I bought it from CPAP.com, who were quite willing to take it back. But the logistics and cost made it difficult.
I now have tracked down the UK repair shop and find that it is not covered under full warranty (a risk that I had taken into account).
Being a practical sort of person I thought I would have a go myself.
This did not happen for shall we say a wifely reason.
Friday the humidifier took a journey to the menders.
At this point you would think its the end of the story, well not exactly.
I had been using the humidifier as a cold passover type as second best and I still had the tank. So I set about making a stand to hold my apap and humidifier. A very neat job it is too. Now the sting, after 1hour 27minutes (I got software) the top of the tank parted company with the bottom with loud gurgling and whooshing noises. So the rest of the night was spent with no passover. I suppose my pressure of 17 did not help.
My new discovery is that the top and bottom of the tank are not glued and are held together by the humidifier body.
The tank is again pressure and watertight, still not glued.
This XPAP sure does bring some trials, but the better quality of life makes it all worth while.
