Well i guess i will see what i can do at this point. what really sucks for me is i don't drive so they did drop off my machine. and i did call several times before thy came out to try to figure out what I was going to get. all they would say is you will get what your RX asks for. at this point, i am going to call mt doc and get a copy of the rx to see what it stated. if it says data i will start barking. Are there any machines about the same size as what i have that gives decent data or should it be a resmed or resporinics?
totally off topic to this i do have an application in for a computer support monkey with Resmed. so wah't would be cool is if I can get that job.

You can ask your doc to write a new RX if the original is not specific enough.
If you can get him to specify model and make, good;
otherwise tell him you have to have LEAK NUMBERS and AHI reporting.

With Apria I was having a hard time getting a Climateline MAX hose for high pressures (distinct from the regular Climateline). I called them every few days, which is admittedly a drag and finally they said they'd special order it. Another two weeks went by and somebody finally called the warehouse manager and told them to get off their ass. I got the MAX hose two days later.

It's very rare for a doctor's order to specify data access unless YOU ask your doctor to include it in the first place. Your doctor probably ordered "CPAP set at ___cm H20" and any brick can do that.

I wouldn't worry about it fitting on your nightstand - unless you have a lilliputian nightstand, any current model (data capable) machine is going to fit. And the data capable models have no larger footprint than the bricks!

As things are set up currently, the fp and my lock radio fit about perfectly on my night stand. What my dream world machine would be is a xPAP with Bluetooth data sync and audio stream. With an alarm clock. 1device to rule them all.

that was a fun call...
got told you only get 1 humidifier tank. (manualy says machine comes with 2 tanks.
next line was because aetna does not require compliance data we don't send data capable machines to aetna patitents.... ( almost started yelling at the phone here but the rt's hands are tied.)
how hard do i push here. i only have aetna for 2 more months because i am in the group of people that aetna is no longer covering due to ACA... so what happens if my new provider in jannuary wants compliance data in order to cover masks and other stuff am I then stuck in lake bandani with no paddle?

You are going to be paying $300. for your copay. Do you consider this machine and mask being worth that much of your money?

No insurance requires any data except compliance. At the copay amount you could buy a new machine with data from Seconndwind.
It is quite possible that when you change insurance you will be required to start over paying for that machine or that that particular DME is not covered and you are stuck paying extra.

It's really very simple - you take back the machine; have your doctor write an Rx worded
as you were previously explicitly advised above; and start calling other DMEs until you find one that agrees to fill the prescription in your hand.
For them it's a lesson in bullying and BS; for you it's a lesson in assertiveness training.
Best wishes, Nate
