Thanks for all the replies; definitely helps to know others struggle with this as well. Now, if I can only figure out how to sleep on my side without my Swift FX driving me crazy!

I think that for the most part it is advised to avoid sleeping on your back because it can increase the number of events experienced each night, especially for those who have positional SA. Before PAP therapy, I would start off on my back but then go from one side to the other all night long. I attribute this now to my body doing whatever it could to try to restore my breathing from my severe untreated OSA. Since being on the hose now for almost a couple of years I find that due to my SA/OSA not being positional I can sleep in any position I want and it doesn't change the effectiveness of my PAP therapy all. I just seem to find sleeping on my back the most comfortable now.

To liberally paraphrase what Pugsy has said about the subject: I rather sleep in the way that is most comfortable to me and let the PAP machine do what it does best, keep my airway open.

I have this costing about $12 and have no problems sleeping 7 hours. I sleep 90% of the time supine with a foam wedge under my knees. I insert the metal stand base at 45 degrees at the corner of the mattress. I like the folding stand which I take apart easily, every two weeks, when the cleaners come to do my house. The stand reassembles by itself by just throwing it on the bed. It must be a smarter machine designer then I used to be who designed this stand.

I would like to thank NateS for telling me about it a year ago.
