I am a bad mask flip flopper. I will probably never be faithful to any mask. Night before last I tried to use my plastic FF mask, Quattro Air. I just never could get it to seal even though I have used it in the past. I gave up and used my Wisp. Last night I used my Anew and had no problem with the seal. I was very frustrated with the Anew when I first got it but after washing and getting it broken in it is working great. I just wish it came with the flexible short tube and had easier clips.

First post, seven year user. Got the sleepweaver anew four days ago. First night, was astonished at the level of noise from the mask. After washing, second night was not quite as loud, but still nearly unbearable. No leaks showing on SH software. Third night, was coughing every ten minutes. After two hours, had to go back to trusty old Quatro to get some sleep. Has anybody else had such a loud experience with the anew, and anybody have any suggestions to reduce the sound level? Thanks for any help.

It takes a few washings to get the inside fabric that touches your face softened up. I am not talking about soft to the touch I am talking about the difference in a new stiff pair of jeans and an old comfortable pair. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks. I'll give it several washings and keep trying. Was yours loud, at first?

It was loud and wouldn't seal. I was very disappointed. I am so glad I kept working with it. That black fabric that touches your face was too stiff to mold to my face. Let me know how it works out for you.

Doesn't your facial hair prevent almost anything from sealing other than nasal pillows?

Facial hair is better than stubble.

The designer of the Sleepweaver masks has apnea and a full beard. So the answer is probably no, provided you follow the instructions.

Actually, the facial hair has prevented no sealing problems, no leaks.
Started with the "anew" last night and two hours in, was coughing uncontrollably. Had to sit up in chair for a couple hours, then back to my regular full face mask.
Looks like the anew is not going to work for me. DME said, no returns, no exchanges.
Has anyone else experienced lots of coughing with the Anew?
Thanks.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the soap you washed it with. If it worked for you except for the coughing and you can't return it you might try washing again with a different soap and a lot of rinsing.

Yeah, I thought about that, too. Using Woolite, same as for the other mask. And did about ten minutes of wash and ten minutes of rinse. Wanted to get it rubbed a lot.
Not sure if I want to go through that again, just to test that.
Thanks for the response.

You could test it during the daytime just to make sure it won't make you cough. I can't see any reason for the design of the mask to cause coughing.

I'm thinking it could be an allergic reaction. Good idea to test it daytime. Thanks.

May or may not be significant, but thought I would mention, I also use no humidifier, haven't for the seven years of use.
