I must be naive but I never heard of such a thing on a public forum.

It is not a public forum. It is privately owned and operated. The owners and the moderators can say whatever they want to as long as they don't break any laws. They solely have choice over who is allowed to post.

cpaptalk dot com is privately owned and operated. They can say whatever they want. I think it is neat that they have taken the approach of "barely moderated". It speaks well of their view of mankind.

And, IMO, it works very well!

Well, I just saw that I too was "banned".

And, I had NOT previously posted in this Subject thread, nor have I said anything bad about them, posted any links, etc.

Is there any possiblity that the Forum is just having some sort of problems?

Stu thats just plain WEIRD. I would think you would get a different kind of message if they were having server problems or something.

Well, if it turns out there's just some technical issue and we're not all really banned, I'll have to eat crow and apologize.

Considering, however, how long it took me to register trying with variations of my username, I seriously doubt I'll have to worry about apologizing.

And I may continue to putz with my Dodge Minivan. The transmission sounds almost like it hangs up between gears, but a look in the oil pan revealed no metal dust/shavings, so I don't think it's a mortal wound. Changed out the solenoid pack (common issue in the A604 transmissions):



and it's much better. I'm thinking (hoping) that some stuff is just dirty. When I dropped the pan I noticed the filter had become dislodged so it wasn't filtering properly (if at all). I think I'll just let it ride (ha) for a while and see what happens.
