I have looked all over ALL the plastic parts, and I find NOTHING!
Isn't this against some law?

Not that I know of -- those codes are really per the recycling industry. To let recycling plants know what they are (which is not really possible due to the enormous volume of items -- they use high speed sorters using light refraction to separate plastics into different bins....).

My Respironics humidifier chamber doesn't have a plastics code on it either, just a date code (looks like a clock, Aug 12) and other numbers and letters (model #?)

You should really phone ResMed and ask them for the definitive info re the plastics and BPA. Please post your findings for everyone. Perhaps they switched formulas in recent years to go BPA-free.

That way it may help put this issue 'to bed'.....

If you took the time to read past one post, you would notice that I did call Respironics on Friday and did speak to their head of regulatory compliance, who told me that PR switched to BPA-free plastics in about 2011.

That took me about an hour to wade through PR's horrible digital operator maze and get an actual knowledgeable human being who knew about the issue on the phone.

So if you have another brand of CPAP, you can go do the legwork on your own damned time, ok? I have better things to do than do your homework for you.

Actually, you said "BPA-free polycarbonate," which doesn't exist. Polycarbonate is made from BPA. "BPA-free polycarbonate" is sort of like "hydrogen free water."

It appears the Resin Identification Code is usually only required on specific items like disposable drink bottles. It's a hodgepodge of state laws, so I suspect definitive answers are hard to find.

i haven't died of bapa pesticides all that crap surrounding this kind of bs like the wifes boss is into

fact not sure website or quote all this antibacterial soap and disinfectant etc are why people and kids are getting sick so often

you body has to build tolerances now days all those tolerances are gone

fake sugar killing you bpa and every other bloody thing i have enjoyed and will always microwave my plastic im not dead yet

but hey each there own have fun and watch out for black helicopters and big foot

BPA in plastics is not one of the ways they're going to profit by killing us off.

There are so many REAL ways that they're risking our lives for profit. Bringing up BS things like BPA only draws attention away from the real problems. It helps the corporate criminals get away with their real safety/health/environmental crimes. It marginalizes those who point out real problems.

Go ahead and play your crazy pseudo environmentalist games. The true corporate criminals out there are laughing at you and saying "thanks."
