A 25% chance of 'curing' apnea? No way would I put any child through a risky operation for 25%. I wouldn't put myself through for that percentage. Maybe 90%.

Our visit with the ENT was the biggest pile of horsecrap in the world. He looked in her throat, felt her throat and goes 'WOW! Those are not even a bit swollen!' checked and cleaned her ears and then goes 'She should have her tonsils removed at Riley because they have a PICU!' UM!!! When I told him I didn't want surgery? He goes 'Well you'll have to talk to the pediatrician about that' then he left the room WHILE I was still talking!!! I've already called the pediatrician and told them flat out we're not having surgery, what are the next steps and I'm waiting for a call back.

Sounds like your mind was made up even before you met this unsavory doctor. Too bad he was such a jerk.

Her tonsils weren't swollen. I'm not having surgery done on something that isn't having problems. I'm not apologizing for that. My mind was made up. As I said before. No surgery unless everything was huge. It's not, so we're not

I didn't know that you could feel whether tonsils were large by feeling the neck. If he didn't think her tonsils were large looking in her throat, and yet he recommended surgery, I wouldn't trust him about anything. And I certainly wouldn't let him operate on my kid. Well, if you feel his opinion was a valid one, at least you can say that you looked into it.

He looked in her throat and they weren't large at all. He looked first and felt.

He was a very rude man, but it also confirmed my suspicions about her tonsils not being large at all.

He obviously knew what he was doing though, he just has the bedside manner of a ..... *insert some awful grumpy animal here*

The only thing he was really good for was that he cleaned out her ears. She had lots of nasty gunk in there
