Took 4 plus weeks to get my results mailed from the lab. I had a follow up appointment with my sleep doc three weeks after my study, reminded my doc's office the day before my appointment I had not received a copy of my results, doc's office said they would call the lab. My results were faxed to the doc's office two hours before my appointment.

You did me one better, Jerry! Although the DME got my order quickly, they were not so quick to send it to my insurance for approval, then a couple other delays (one caused by me!) and it took me about 2 weeks to actually get the equipment! But the sleep study was read the next day and in my doctor's hands and he did his part by the end of the day, so I can't complain about that at all. If the DME hadn't delayed, I might have had my DME either Friday (2 days after my study) or the following Monday.
It absolutely CAN be done if the sleep center has good systems in place. Too many medical practices do not have any systems- or process-thinkers. They do things the way they always have SEEN them done or have always done them, so that must be the way they SHOULD be done. Streamlining the processes and speedy results CAN be the norm if more sleep centers wanted to put best practices in place and valued speed in getting the results out.

I had my sleep study on a Wednesday night and I saw the sleep doctor for the results the following Friday. The doctor recommended an APAP and whisked me into another room where a CPAP technician set me up with a machine and mask on the spot. I didn't have go elsewhere for machine or wait for one to be shipped to me.

So 25 minute drive to his office and 10 minute wait (No Time) and a 25 minute drive home..what a crock...(The machine only has 6 settings and only 4 serious ones for pressure EPAP Min and MAX, PS Min and Max...)

50 min round trip? Luxury! I have a four hour round trip to my sleep centre, yes 4 hours and approx 300kms. Its rather frustrating when you drive all that way for a 5-10 min appointment, to be told you have to have another sleep study. But I am just grateful that I got an appointment within a reasonable time, initally I was told there would of been a six month wait to just see if I'd qualify for a sleep study. I knew I couldn't last that long.
