since we have hijacked this poor person's thread and left them in the dust anyway............

All I know is what works for me. I have IMPROVED my tongue air control immensely through "training" (i.e. developing a "habit"). over a couple of YEARS.
I went from blowing gale force out my mouth, even when awake, even with all sorts of straps and constructions of horror on my face, to easily shutting off the air and having to make an EFFORT TO LEAK air, when awake or going into everything short of a deep sleep. To me that is worth a a few seconds of effort every night. In deep sleep, sometimes I keep shut, sometimes I can pop open a bit, but with what has become just a hint of a vestigal DIY tongue guide to REMIND my tongue of where it needs to go while my brain is in dreamland, I keep my mouth pretty well non-leaking all night.

so even if tongue training only helps make the other devices work better or only works 80% of the time, is it worth the price of admission, which is FREE? Thats up to the individual to decide.

Sometimes I think the naysayers are just people that don't want to put in the effort to work on training and are not getting a good nights sleep with whatever failed attempt they are using to stop mouthleaks.

Personally, I can't use a full face mask. I feel REALLY lousy in the morning if I use one. I suspect its causing some weird collapse of the airway, pushing something the wrong way when I use it....besides the problem of mask leaks.

Putting your tongue behind your teeth and training yourself to keep it there sounds a heck of a lot easier and more plausible to me than learning to keep your airways open. I don't even know how to do that when I'm awake. They just do it on their own naturally...geesh!
Yeah, I guess I got a little carried away. But I can dream, can't I?

Doubtful. I'll be too busy concentrating on controlling my tongue and throat muscles in order to become the first person ever to self-cure their OSA!
