As to Tinnitus, I been CPAPING for three years and my Tinnitus got worse.
avi, everyone's experience is unique. That's why. Sorry to hear of your tinnitus. I have had it also and it can be incredible annoying.
Those of us with hearing loss do not find the S9 pump to be loud at all. I cannot hear the pump at all and barely hear the air moving through the tubing. (I use the EPR but I have a low pressure so maybe that's why it is not so loud)) My husband, who has better than good hearing can hear it, but he finds it all to be like white noise and it doesn't bother him at all.
I have no hopes of the CPAP improving my hearing in my right ear, as I have no hearing bones left there and wear a hearing aid on that side. I have had eustachian tube dysfunction my whole life and I have noticed my left eustachian tube much more open in the last week since I started CPAP. My left ear easily pops now whereas it did not before. Although I do have some hearing loss on the left it was not bad enough for a hearing aid. Judging any hearing change will have to be subjective though because I have not had an audiology exam on that ear in about two years (I think!)

My tinnunitis is not gone, but the volume of it seems to have been dramatically reduced....
Our TV volume used to be set at 12-13 to allow me to hear the TV.... but since I have been on CPAP therapy, the TV volume rarely goes over 8-9.

This a rather interesting topic for me. I have practically no hearing in my right ear, and about 50% in the left. I'm only on my second month of cpap and no noticeable difference in my hearing. I have however noticed my tinnitus is sometimes more annoying, and for a couple of nights it felt like I had a hearing test being performed (hope you understand what I mean).
If cpap improves my hearing I will be jumping for joy!!
