When I was a noob, I washed my cushions every morning, but with unscented hand soap.
(Dawn and baby shamp00 fragrance are unpleasant to me)
While on vacation, I tried unscented baby wipes (because it was easier), and found my Re$med
silicone parts work well at least twice as long as with the recommended washing method.
The sudsy dunk and scrub occurs along with boiling when I need to renew sorry silicone.

The benefit of using a waterless cleaning method, the mask is ready for use immediately after; no waiting for it to dry.
She said it was because Dawn has a grease cutting agent that will break down the materials in the mask faster. I have read this elsewhere so I wasn't surprised when she said it. My mask is ready right away too if I pat it dry enough

When I do wash my cushion (which is rarely) I use liquid hand soap. About once every 2 months I boil my cushion. My current cushion is almost 7 months old and going strong.

Kate M wrote:My DME RT just recommended I wipe the mask with soap and water on a washcloth - pretty much anything but Dawn. I use Dial antibacterial hand soap on a washcloth, wipe it down with the soapy washcloth, then wipe it with just water and pat it a little with a towel and let it dry. I asked her what the benefits of the wipes are and she could not name one. (And they sell them!)

I use Dawn, and it works great. Gets my facial oils off of them, leaves no residue, and my cushions last 5-7 months. I can't imagine why somebody would say not to use it. I would be more concerned with the antibiotic soaps and what they may have in them.

The advantage to the wipes is when you need to clean your mask in the middle of the night, or it is time to go to bed, and you realize you need to clean your mask and don't want to to wait for it to dry. I drool in a full face mask, so sometimes my mask has more than just facial oil on it. And I don't want to go wash and dry it 5 minutes before going to bed. So, I just grab a wipe and give it a good cleaning that way.
