I have slotted nares and the nasal pillows don't work that well for me.

I also have slotted nares and the pillows work just fine. In fact, the Breeze pillows are oval shaped, perfect for slotted nares.

Rested gal is correct about the nasal pillows for the Breeze. The green are softer and work so much better than the clear. I never needed the extras strap, mine works fine as is. Most people love the Aura/Headrest, but I personally breathe so much better with the Breeze that it is my current main mask. I have the Aura, but I rarely use it because I just don't feel alert and sometimes get headaches after using it. Everyone is different and I am sure I am a rare exception to the rule.

Hi me again well I took back that one mask and they gave me back the nose pillows one and Steve I put the velco on the back straps but they didn't stick very good and came off so guess i need to tack them down and try again

just wanted to tell everyone I sent off and got the breeze headgear with the nose pillows and I want to say that was the best nights rest I have had so think I will like this one a whole lot better.

When a pillow leaks, you just go on to the next size up. An extra band or strap to hold it against the nose works every time. Like a stretchy headband under your nose holding the pillows against them and over the top back of you head. Just sort of smashing them flush against the nostrils.

I have the swift. I'm set to try the Aptiva on next Wednesday. But my primary concerns are two fold. One is does this mask fit over the nose. My nose has sensative cartilidge on one side and the nasal pillows kill me on small and medium. I can barely go to sleep. I call it a "spur" on one side.

Is the Aptiva a good option? Or should I be trying the Ultra Mirage? They carry that one also. It doesn't say anything about Ultra Mirage II on their website but that's a possibility too.

I thought Aptiva would be nice because it takes care of my 2nd concern which is leaks. AND it covers my primary problem. Oh the fun and the merriment!

I'm only a newbie in CPAP terms - a couple weeks. I had the Swift and loved it when I put it on. But for some reason I just couldn't fall asleep, didn't get a good nights sleep, and ripped it off in the middle of the night. It also had an annoying whistling sound that I couldn't seem to get rid of.

So I go back to my local provider and they've given me two new mask... the Comfortlite 2 and the Comfort Gel. In my sleep study I tried two different nasal masks and they hurt the bridge of my nose something fierce. So I was a bit apprehensive about using it. But I decided to give it a try.

It was very uncomfortable when I put it on - especially compared to the Swift. Results:

- Fell asleep very quickly
- No leaks
- Very comfortable in the morning - no pain
- Full nights sleep
- I feel GREAT!

So I guess you should try different masks to find that right one for you.

Okay. Has anyone used the Comfort Gel AND the Aptiva? What did you think? Sounds like I should stop thinking about Ultra Mirage and start thinking about Comfort Gel. Oh wait. My APAP only works with certain masks. Will an S8 autoset Vantage work with Comfort Gel? Anyone? Bueller?

From what I've read on the boards, you can use pretty much any mask with any machine. I think the Vantage has a mask setting where you can select your mask. Set it to standard. I'm waiting for my Vantage to come in later this month.

I used the Aptiva during my tritation study. It was fairly comfortable when I put it on, but I woke up four hours later with a nasty pain on the bridge of my nose. That being said, I imagine noses are all different shapes and sizes so yours might be okay with it .

I definately give a thumbs up on the comfortgel. The initial smell is kinda nasty, so I soaked it in vinegar and water for a couple hours and I didn't really notice the smell when I had it on.

Only downside is you get a lot of condensation on the mask that drips down during the night. I'm getting the aussie heated hose to see if that helps, but it was more of an annoyance rather than a problem. I'm going to try and turn the humidity down on my humidifier.

You're right it's just the masks with narrow tubes that the S8 Autoset Vantage can't deal with. It loses it's ability to be an APAP according to what I read. Sounds like you're the guy who's tried both. I will definitely consider both. Anyone else use both? Sounds like it's coming down to these TWO.

well I have tried the Breeze and I really like it finally I can get a good nites rest I tried two others one kept falling down on my nose ,on to my mouth I have a small face. the other one was a nose pillow too but couldn't get comfortable with it kept pulling it off after about 2 hours so I am really happy with the breeze.

Somehow, miraculously, I had zero nose pain last night with medium pillows. Hmmmmmmmm. If it was this way ALL the time I would have zero problem with this particular snorkel....I mean nasal pillow mask.

On the bright side, should my house fill up with water to just above my head, I think I could safely use my Swift Mirage to breathe while I navigate out of my house. Heh.
