RestInSeattle, I don't find that much air is released at all. The only time my husband even commented on any air at all coming out of the vents was when he reached across my head to turn off my alarm clock the other morning. I can put my hand in front of the vents and barely feel any air at all coming out. Now, my pressure is currently at 9 which is not very high. Someone with a pressure much higher than mine might have a different experience. For me, I LOVE my CL2!

Dear Rest..,
Take a look at Nighthawkeye's photo (above a few posts). You will see the CL2 has several very small holes to vent the passive air. It is quiet.

Hi RestInSeattle, The exhalation ports are on the interface attachment. They are just below the poing of attachment. I must say, I just love my Comfortlite 2 mask. I use the direct seal interface because I just couldn't keep a good seal on the nasal pillows or the simple seal. The old nares were sore for about the first month, but it wasn't anything a little time and Neosporin couldn't fix. Good luck!!

Two nights ago, I couldn't get my Comfortlite 2 to seal. I was conscious of the leak noise and slept poorly, if at all. I put an post on this forum and was referred to your post. Last night I made the Nighthawkeye equipment mod. The mask did not leak and I had a great night's sleep.
One observation that may be of interest to folks making this mod. Monofilament line is hard to tie, especially for older folks as we lose finger dexterity. It's also hard to adjust the loop because of the type knot needed to deal with monofilament line (I used the knot style that is used when attaching monofilament to a fishing hook).
I ended up using braided fishing line. It's easier to tie. In addition, I tied the one end with two half hitches. If I need to adjust the loop, I can do it.

The two-half-hitch knot slipped. I had to put some super glue on it to hold it in place.
