I shudder to think what a lurker would think now to see what this thread had disintegrated into.
I apologize to anyone out there who has clicked on this thread hoping for advice.

Don't worry, if someone really wanted advice about tonsillectomies, they could search for "tonsillectomy advice" in the search box and find some excellent information (if I may say so myself ).

Advice Id give to anyone from this string would be if a poster who just came from surgery and is not feeling well from post op tonsillectomy, dont post snide, smart ass replies such as sleeping ugly and that other idiot have done. Everybody else (yourself included) was positive and responded appropriately.

Snide posts that viciously tear into a person who is immediate post surgery are totally inappropriate on this forum and are subject to suspension of their "first amendment rights" on this privately owned message board.

I would suggest they don't get their knickers in a knot over perceived slights when their brain is on speed and downers.

That's an interesting point I hadn't through of before. I think for most surgery, they intubate you. I guess they couldn't do that during a lot of throat surgery. They can't use a CPAP mask either.

Apnea kills, but it's probably not going to kill you in a week or two. Especially if you're doing CPAP and just getting a higher than usual AHI. Look at your data and see if you're having any really long, deep apneas. Any AHI of under 30 or so isn't likely to do much harm in a few weeks other than bad sleep and fatigue.

To overnight, maxing the pressure out as in bottoming it out nightly and my AHI has gone to like 9 to 9.5 the last two days. My throat is so sore I can barely swallow and honestly been having mild trouble breathing during the daytime, feels like my airway is swollen some. Swallowing food is hard.

That better be the cause of my skyrocketed 95th percentile and AHI. The doctor told me this should drop my pressures. We shall see. I hope I dont end up having to get a trach to end all this bullshit once and for all.

Eric
Maybe you "should" have done the trach instead?

Greetings,

I have restored the deleted posts on this thread. General statement for forum members:

What the spam button is for: reporting actual spam

What the spam button is not for: removing posts that you do no agree with. If there is a person on the forum annoying you, you can add them to your foe list. If you report a post as spam that is just communicating a difference of opinion, you will no longer be able to report spam.

Everyone has off days. Everyone here has their smart comments. The thing I tell manufacturers that want to engage in the forum can also be said here. Disregard smart comments and look for the main point / concern of the comment. Although we have many characters on this forum that love to put sarcasm in their comments (generally these are hilarious) if you disregard the sarcasm there is usually a main point included.

Also - when adding back the posts I replaced some offensive words that I knew I would receive complaints on. I believe all individuals on this forum are intelligent and can express themselves using more creative language. If you are having a mind block on creative words, I suggest using: http://thesaurus.com/

What do you do when people are posting things that are full blown Internet harassment? I posted here to get some emphathy after a major surgery and was in a lot of pain. Yet two posters immediately began in on me, making snide, sardonic and harassing comments which were absolutely out of line. Those two posters were not being helpful at all. Any other forum, they'd be banned. It is called "kicking a person when they are down and out."

I have spent a lot of money with your company.

Thanks for your "help."

Eric

Let me guess... The doctor held a knife to your throat?

My unrequested advice, with much experience on internet forums, just let it go, a comment that is inappropriate will speak for itself.

It was a joke in reply to something I said and the joke was in very poor taste, considering I was post surgical.

She said "when mentally competent to do so" ... if you can't handle bad tasting jokes right now, then wait til your tonsils (and/or what ever wit was surgically removed) to heal. Otherwise learn to use your foe button instead of your spam button.

Now go have yourself a chuckle and a bowl of ice cream and see if that helps any.
