I like it and using is very routine now. I'm in it for the long haul, I'm not overweight and I know my OSA is probably not going away ever.

As far as how i feel with using it, I have not been able to notice any difference. I don't feel any more or less rested upon waking or through the day. So i wouldn't say i like PAP but i have reached the point that i can sleep almost as good now as I did before I started treatment. To reach even this level required endless trial and error attempts with masks, machines, pressure settings and accessories. My ahi numbers remain all over the place but they do not seem to correlate in any way to how i feel.

Did you ever get your oximeter to work? See an improvement in values over non cpap nights?

Like it? It is an awesome piece of tech. It keeps me alive. And while I would love not to require power to breathe, it is still awesome.
Kind of like high tech running shoes and Birkenstocks. They look ugly but without them I am crippled so I build my wardrobe around them. I wear glasses to see close up. It is a pain at the live drawing studio - I either see the model or the drawing I am doing. I can only afford one set of bifocals and those are reading up close and computer screen. So I learn to draw without really seeing the lines.
In the winter I wear heavy boots, a down filled coat, a hat, a scarf, heavy mittens and I look like puff ball, the other option is to die of exposure. You make do, you stay alive and thanks your gods you have the technology that keeps you alive.

It has become my "cocoon of solitude". The rhythmic lullaby of the machine...the gentle massage with each breath as the mask inflates against my face.
I find it almost impossible to fall sleep without it. And that's a good thing!

I don't mind using my CPAP, and I'm certainly grateful for what it can do for me in measurable and immeasurable ways. If tonight I was assured that I could have the same quality of healthy sleep free from fear of waking struggling to breathe with a racing heart, and I could do it without the CPAP, yeah, I'd be a happy camper. Now that I'm thinking about how bad sleep was without CPAP, yeah, I'm feeling pretty affectionate toward my machine.

I'm still a beginner at this (it'll be a full two weeks after tonight), but despite the ups and downs, I like my CPAP. A lot. Like DaveCarolina (?-If I got your name wrong, Dave, please pardon me - I still have the short-term memory of a butterfly) I find the inflow of air reassuring, and putting my mask on at night feels like I'm entering into my own private, safe little universe. Given my response during my sleep studies, I thought I was going to breeze through the adaptation process. In some respects, I have. Have gone from having to pee at least 2 or 3 times a night to having a couple of "all-nighters" already. It's no great difficulty to sleep with my apparatus any more, although I still wake up to the occasional leak. A quick adjustment and it's back to dreamland. I think I'm dreaming more, although I don't really remember what goes on in them very much. The downside has been more during the day. Some days are very sleepy yet, others are better. Yesterday I could barely get up to speed for my early morning elliptical workout; this morning, I hauled. After doing some reading here, I found out that isn't really all that unusual a thing. It helped to go through and read the success stories too. I'm very optimistic about the benefits to come, and willing to hang in there through whatever adjustment period I need to endure to get to them!

I hate it. Yes I've gotten used to it. I found a mask I tolerate with Pad a Cheek cover to make it mk morre comfy which was a huge. Overall though, no improvement in how I feel. It's been about 7 months now. I've settled on a good setting, AHI always under 2 & consistently under 1. No desats, never had high bp, never got up to pee, never woke with gasping or racing heart.. I'm gaining weight, falling asleep at movies, fighting it when at work, driving. I crave carbs all the time, I try to get exercise but some days I just can't push through it. My memory is shot. I feel like my professional life is suffering. Its embarrassing. I'm not dumb just exhausted but how can I explain that to my boss.
If I felt better I wouldn't complain.

I can't say I like it but I am not giving it up. You would have to pry it from my cold dead face.

Not an easy question to answer. I like it because it works for me, and now I CANNOT sleep (not even nap) without it. If I didn't need it, or another viable option was available, I don't know how much I would like it then. Dadgum, you made me think, which made my head hurt.

There are times when I get groggy and if the thought of a nap starts to "set in", I think about using the mask and sorta "dislike it". It's a fleeting thought, but its there...

I love it! I have not missed a night since bringing my autoset home. Took to it like a duck to water. Mucho improvement in number of sleep hrs and sleep quality.

One year in for me and am totally hooked on it. But I don't "love" it - that's a strong phrase! But I certainly don't "Hate" it any more like I did in the beginning. I find it comforting most nights and then there are those nights that it feels like a huge bowl on my face. But I'm in it for the long run and getting much better sleep than I did before. So, I guess I "like" it!

Enough to go to bed with it, I'd bet...

I love that now I can actually sleep on my back without snoring! (or at least not as badly as before).
