I put mine on the bed side table( nightstand ) , and run the hose thru a clip attached to the headboard. I have been a CPAPer for over a year, and only had a couple of nights with any water in my mask & I don't know if it was rainout or droll?
I don't use my mask if I have a cold since my nasal passages get completely stopped up and all the OTC meds only help a little. Tried to post a photo, but no luck.

Apart from rainout considerations:
Make sure you can't pull it off the table or turn it over if you roll over, snag the hose, etc.
Make sure the air intake is a way from dust sources, or sources of smells.
Don't sit it on something overly soft like carpet where there might not be good air circulation under the machine because it sunk into the carpet.
Place it somewhere that a water leak won't be a major problem, but don't sit it in something like a tray where water could accumulate and "drown" the machine if you have a water leak.
