Well maybe I will re evaluate my grumpy old man list. I am sure there's room for more than one.
I was trying to interject some humor... I guess I failed.
English grammar has never been my strong suit.
I guess I got "grumpy" across.

Yea but they can only abduct my alias and not the real me.
You hope!

jnk wrote:"Grumpy" and "old" are both used as adjectives in the phrase "grumpy, old man."
"Grumpy old man" is, indeed, entirely adjectival in the phrase "grumpy-old-man list."
It is also adjectival in the phrase "Grumpy Old Man Pikov," as in the sentence: "Grumpy Old Man Pikov characteristically attempted to correct Pugsy instead of trying to get the point of what was being said."
Or: "Grumpy Old Man Pikov implied that he wanted help learning this stuff from us because none of us seem to know what the heck we are talking about."
But as I used the phrase, it was not an adjective.

But when Pugsy said . . .
Pugsy wrote: . . . I can't give you the grumpy old man adjective . . .
. . . it made perfect sense and was not inaccurate, since one way to give you "the grumpy old man adjective" would be to call you "Grumpy Old Man Pikov," which would be using "grumpy old man" as an adjective.
Then again, I don't know which is worse--your incorrigible grumpiness or my pointlessly unyeilding grammatical pedanticism.
I guess my only real point is "Please be nice to Pugsy."

That's ok jnk...Avi doesn't like the way I "talk" either. I should be used to it by now.
I misspell words and hate English composition...and my fingers can't keep up with my brain.
If someone can't see the time and work I put into composing my thoughts and see past any imperfections...well then I guess I will just find something else to do or someone else to try to help.
I have another "list" that I can put someone on.

I would like to apologize for my use of the obscure word "pedanticism" instead of the more common "pedantry." I will try to be more careful in the future.

Nahhh, I have no hope ... that's part of my conspiracy theory.

SO WHAT??? I'm surprised you haven't been hit over the head yet! We are keeping you busy, aren't we? And, we are smart, adorable, funny, sexy and any other lovely and kind adjective you would like to use. And, we are
never grumpy like you old guys!
Anyone still wondering why "I" use an alias??

Just so I am clear on this:
- You want "expert" advice;
- You want the credentials of the "expert" confirmed; and undoubtedly
- You want all this for "free".
Yeah, GFL on that.[/quote]
OMG!! I'm learning your language! I even understood the "rose"! At first I thought they were for me! This thread is hilarious!! Thanks Pikov22!

Pikov may regret not using a better alias.
I'm in the next county (Camden), and only about 2 miles from the border!
