Study after study shows that Fox news viewers score lower on general knowledge than viewers of ALL other sources of news and they, amazingly, manage to be less informed than people who don't watch or read the news at all. It's quite amusing to see these studies demonstrated here day after day.
Another study has concluded that people who only watch Fox News are less informed than all other news consumers.
Researchers at Fairleigh Dickinson University updated a study they had conducted in late 2011. That study only sampled respondents from New Jersey, where the university is located. This time, the researchers conducted a nationwide poll.
The poll asked questions about international news (Iran, Egypt, Syria and Greece were included) and domestic affairs (Republican primaries, Congress, unemployment and the Keystone XL pipeline.)
The pollsters found that people were usually able to answer 1.8 out of 4 questions on foreign news, and 1.6 of 5 questions on domestic news, and that people who don't watch any news were able to get 1.22 of the questions on domestic policy right.
As the study explained, though, people who watched only Fox News fared worse:
The largest effect is that of Fox News: all else being equal, someone who watched only Fox News would be expected to answer just 1.04 domestic questions correctly -- a figure which is significantly worse than if they had reported watching no media at all. On the other hand, if they listened only to NPR, they would be expected to answer 1.51 questions correctly; viewers of Sunday morning talk shows fare similarly well. And people watching only "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" could answer about 1.42 questions correctly.
Other networks also did badly in some sections; MSNBC viewers and Fox News viewers both fared worse in answering international questions than people who watched no news.
People who only listened to NPR or watched Sunday morning talk shows or "The Daily Show" did the best in the study.

Obviously, mass media is responsible for the mother of all mass brain drains.
BTW - I used to be an NPR, Sunday talking heads, and Daily Show junkie ... until I figured out they too have a biased and myopic view of trhe world.

I wish we could throw almost everyone out of Congress (especially Tea Party caucus members) and elect Obama to a 3rd term.
<duck>
Seriously, I am not worried about the tax on DME (is it supposed to be 2.3% or something ridiculously low like that?)

People can survive taxes. Illegal drone strikes without due process ... not so much.

Quoting Huffington Post articles, LMAO. Going by your location, I suspect you are a super liberal, progressive leftist who wishes karl marx could be brought back from the grave. <sarcasm>
I dont care what a couple studies say. Educated people are skeptical of statistics. Statistics, unless done really well, can be skewed very easily and made to be prejudiced towards one side or another.
Just remember, you voted for obama. Now you own it!!! However bad things get, you own it! Have you gotten some free stuff yet?

Oh, a poster from a SUPER left wing state! You are not worried about more taxes? Dude, most people in this country cannot afford more taxes. We are already taxed six feet into the ground.
I have family from your state. My Mom is from Connecticut. It used to be a good state, now its full of super liberal retards like yourself. All my family from up North are leftist wingnuts. You people WANT to be taken care of by the government, from cradle to grave. I want the government the hell out of my life.

Liberals determining that only liberal news and liberal news listeners are better "informed". Sounds fair to me.....HA, HA!!
I get my news from variety of sources.......and then filter out what I want to believe.

Yeah I agree. Fox News viewers tend to be more pro business, more pro freedom for the individual, more against big government. Sounds REAL STUPID to me. LMAO
I cant watch MSNBC. Makes me want to puke. Even Fox news makes me want to puke, lately. Our country is going downhill, plain and simple. We are sliding more and more towards that utopian welfare state in the sky.
We will all be equal, everything will be fair. Nobody will be wealthy but nobody will be poor, either. Most things will be "free." The economy will always be wonderful. Try to get too wealthy and die Waffen DHS might show up at your house at 3 am to drag you off to a FEMA camp for "not cooperating with obama's socialist agenda."
Sounds wonderful.

Now now ... you give way too much credit for he's too stupid to have graduated from any university.
Besides, the University of Conspiracy Theory is my alma mater and I know he's too foolish to have gained admittance there.
