Just starting my therapy with a Respironics auto CPAP with heated tube humidifier and ResMed FX nasal pillow. Still getting used to the settings. I get into the provider menu where I see a parameter "Mask Resistance" Presently it is set to 2. The tech at Respironics told me they set this to "4" for their nasal pillow, but could not explain what it does, nor what it should be set it for the ResMed mask.
Any help is appreciated.

Good question. and it they set it at 4 for the pillow then why is it on 2, i might have to check mine as see what it is set at. I will let you know if I find anything about it.

Since P/R uses its number system, and other machines may use mask type name,
has anyone prepared a substitution chart, for those rebels who'd like to wear another brand mask?

Just found this link on the Respironics site. I would figure that an FX nasal pillow is very close to a Respironics GoLife. I have a medium mask, so it seems my setting should be "3".

As noted in the referenced thread, it would seem so, but surprisingly, is not.
