If there is a God, and she/he cared about our health, then why did he/she make sugars and carbs taste so good. I always eat desserts first because life is uncertain. If I was just finishing my lima beans when the giant meteorite smashed into earth killing us all instantly my last thought would be of the dessert still waiting to be eaten !
Because when carbohydrates were scarce they were a good thing--eating fruit in its season, munching on wild grains in their season is a nutritional bonanza. Even as recently as 200 years ago, fruit was not as super sweet and abundant as it is today. The genetic makeup of grains was not so altered (yes, I know through hybridization, not GMO) as to be unrecognizable to our systems.
Eating a lot of fruit every day and sugar and grains constantly is a nutritional disaster that's Monsanto's creation, not G-d's.

I have a suspicion that you are wrong on this. Just a suspicion, I have not done thorough research.
What I believe is the problem at a macro level is twofold:
1. Huge amount of added sugar in diet (I read 120 lbs per person per year).
2. Corn as a food. Corn is a pretty worthless food except for the carbs (empty carbs). We eat a lot of it as HFCS. It is also feed to the animals we eat and this is not a natural food for the animals. The animals develop differently and their meat is not so healthy for us.
So I think the "grain deal" is spreading the blame too far. It's primarily corn and the syrups made from it and the overall volume of all types of sugar added to our food.
Again, I am speaking on a macro level. I know there are some individuals who have gluten intolerance and this problem should be considered separately.
I will ask Granny to comment on this when she returns. She has done more reading on the subject than I have.

There are plenty of real, quantifiable, dangerous things in our environment, food, lifestyle, etc. For instance, the fact that farmers feed antibiotics to healthy animals in order to make them gain weight faster. Multiple drug resistant bacteria are becoming more and more of a problem because of this.
Nutjobs who raise a stink about non-issues like BPA in CPAP machines take attention away from real problems and also trivialize real concerns by lumping real problems with the nutjobs and alien conspiracy problems.

bpa is an issue and a real problem as much as antibiotics in animals. sorry that your not a nutjob to see it that way.

Note that the primary exposure route in humans is through diet. BPA bound in the plastic of a CPAP humidifier chamber has an extremely low chance of entering the human body in significant amounts.

Ya, I just don't think some people are willing to realize this. It has been pointed out before, and zealots are just ignoring this scientific reality.

BPA has a low vapor pressure. It doesn't become airborne very easily. Even if it does get into the water, it doesn't turn into vapor easily, so there won't be much of it in the humidified air.
Even if BPA is leaching out of the tank into the water and then somehow going down the hose into your lungs, there's only a limited amount of "free" BPA in the plastic. As the "free" BPA leaches out, the concentration will go down over time. It's not like beverage bottles where you keep getting a new, fresh source of BPA whenever you buy a new disposable water bottle.
BPA was once deliberately used as a medicine, in significant quantities every day, without obvious major side effects. A microscopic amount of BPA leaching out and being ingested is not likely to have a significant harmful effect.

It's probably a lot riskier drying our equipment in the bathroom,
what with all the fecal coliform floating in the air.
