The pediatrician recommended it, so I guess yes in a way a doctor did advised it. A sugar pill may have worked, I never tried it so I dont know. I dont know much about it thats why I was wondering if someone else knew about it other than me.

Now I remember why I left this place in the beginning. I likely wont be back.

"Several mechanisms have been proposed for the wound healing benefits that are observed when honey is applied topically. Because honey is composed mainly of glucose and fructose, two sugars that strongly attract water, honey absorbs water in the wound, drying it out so that the growth of bacteria and fungi is inhibited (these microorganisms thrive in a moist environment). Secondly, raw honey contains an enzyme called glucose oxidase that, when combined with water, produces hydrogen peroxide, a mild antiseptic. In addition to the specific enzymes found in honey, which may help in the healing process, honey also contains antioxidants and flavonoids that may function as antibacterial agents. One antioxidant in particular, pinocembrin, which is unique to honey, is currently being studied for its antibacterial properties. One laboratory study of unpasteurized honey samples indicated the majority had antibacterial action against Staphylococcus aureus, a common bacteria found readily in our environment that can cause infections, especially in open wounds. Other reports indicate honey is effective at inhibiting Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. Darker honeys, specifically honey from buckwheat flowers, sage and tupelo, contain a greater amount of antioxidants than other honeys, and raw, unprocessed honey contains the widest variety of health-supportive substances."

Leaving the hose on sounds like it'd be noisy as it rubbing together is what frequently wakes my spouse.

When dealing with people, one must realize everyone has a opinion, all are not informed ones. I have never heard of Honey for that, but I can see no harm trying it, unless your diabetic, which I am, but I still eat honey because it's healthy, and BTW it tastes great. Processed sugar is a killer.

This is a great place with many good people trying to help, but as with life some pull the other direction. If we quit when someone upsets us we all lose.

If we can't learn from others, we just waste our time trying to reinvent the wheel. Jim

I don't want to underestimate the power of suggestion. I used to go to a dermatologist who had cured many a small child's case of warts on hands by telling the kids that little gold fish were going to come out of the end of their fingers and nibble away the warts. I would not have believed this except the shocked mothers confirmed it.

Pharmwoman......hi. cpap has cured my years of twice and thrice nightly journeys to the potty........however, occasionally, (and with great reluctance) I must haul myself out of bed.....Like Rooster, its 'turn off machine. disconnect from machine, wrap hose around neck.........and this weekend they're having a pajama bingo at the hall...........I'm tempted.......

hey gidgie--

why not just pull the mask cord and leave stuff on bed? you must really like to exercise in middle of night, taking hose to potty and all?

Please don't let those that reply abrasively be a deterent to your contributions to this site. Sometimes a few of us know enough medical matters to be "dangerous", meaning we think we know enough to decry others suggestions without necessarily backing it up with a search on the subject first. I've been guilty of this at some points and I'm sure others have as well.

Hope you are back in the future.

For goodness sake, on this forum many posters are deprived of sleep and oxygen. Give them some slack when their posts are crabby or worse. Stay with the forum to receive and give advice!

Actually I apologize for acting childish.

It has been a very trying week. I teach ethics, morals and integrity to newly hired officers and this past few weeks I have had several of them fired due to issues with integrity. I felt like my integrity was being questioned by sleepyinsunnyvale and I took it too personally.

After re-reading my post I admit I should have chosen my words more carefully to convey what I was asking.

Please forgive me.......
