I don't mouth breathe, thank goodness, but when I have a cold so that I'm not breathing well, I suck on a cough lozenge when I mask up and it helps a lot with the dry mouth.

Cough lozenge? Won't that rot your teeth out overnight? Seems like the sugars in the lozenge give harmful mouth bacteria an ideal growing environment.

Dry throat, Absolutely. I have a full face mask, been on CPAP for three weeks and the dry mouth/lips/tongue/throat is terrible. I have a humidifier built in attachment to my PR Series 60, but that helps very little. I sleep in a colder room (65 degrees) here in the winter. The humidity is dry here out west where I live and the winter forced air heat makes it much worse. A heated hose helps slightly as it allows the air coming down your tube to hold more humidity due to the higher temperature but in my case, and probably yours this isn't enough to help. Licking my lips helps but every time I do the mask leaks a bit and I don't think I lick my lips automatically when I'm asleep. It is so bad that I usually wake up mid sleep, brush my teeth and lips to remove the dried mucus and go back to bed. I hear about rain in the mask and all I have to say is you must be kidding or that you live in Houston or that it is not winter. I don't know why the manufacturers cannot design a BEEFY humidifier, one that will work in winter in the arid west, people live there too you know. I seriously think the reservoir for the humidifier should be at least a half gallon to last the night rather than the paltry one cup or so.
