I too am looking for something to replace tapping and the chin strap, mostly tapping. It is getting hard on my skin. This would be a cheap way to keep air in the mouth. Anybody going to give it a try?? Has anybody used a dental device to stop mouth breathing or keep the air from escaping out the mouth? I don't mind tapping but my skin does......

I have a device that looks simular, but its for teeth grinding, not snoring. I think its made my mouth breathing worse, maybe even caused the mouth breathing. I paid $800 (well my ins paid it), for the deivce that my dentist custom made. It sticks between upper & lower front teeth. My mouth closes around it, but it seems to cause me to open my mouth. Anything with the tongue sticking out it probably going to cause air leaks that would impare therapy and probably full blown mouth breathing. I've stopped using the device to get my mouth breathing under control.

If you buy this device, I'd use with caution.

I wonder if using the F&P mouthpiece with the inlet blocked with silicone would have the same effectiveness as taping.

Sleepio, if you are still following this thread, could you clear something up for me? - I'm still wondering whether these devices prevent air from leaking out the mouth. If you are using a cpap, why would you use a devise that tries to open the mouth airway and allows air to exit the mouth? Somehow I'm still going back to the question of whether or not these things can be used instead of a chin strap.

Yes it does restrict your breathing through your mouth, and you must breath through your nose to use it. I must say, that your the first person that has wanted to restrict air coming out of your mouth, and our product does sound like it would be a good fit for you to accomplish this as well as snoring:). Sorry, I haven't been following the thread, so I didn't respond.

The Aveo does NOT keep air from exiting the mouth, in fact it does the opposite. So it does not suit your purposes.

Have you ordered the goodmorningsnore thing?

Sleepio, no I haven't ordered one yet. The manufacturer (distributor?) has also told me they tend to last about a year before needing replacement...
