Good point. How long have you had the CPAP and are you sure it's yours?

Of course, you start with a higher price and see if anyone bites. Apparently, you can edit your existing ad after you've posted it and lower the prices as time passes.

Why not? It appears there is NO difference according to FDA prescription requirements. Do you know of anything "official" that exempts second-hand CPAPs? I could find nothing.

As are illegally-obtained RX narcotics, sometimes. That doesn't make either legal.

Then why does FDA require a 'script for CPAPs?

Possibly to prevent tweakers from getting them legally and selling them for dope money.
More than likely to put a cork in the second hand supply from taking a bite out of DME profits.

I doubt the FDA is concerned with keeping DME profits high. But who knows.

My point is the illegality of selling a xPAP without the purchaser having a valid prescription. And, worse, implying it's not illegal to those who may not know better.

I did make it through the compliance portion on my "starter" machine can't remember the name -- the little one with the built in alarm clock. After that my doctor (doctor is their own DME) gave me a brand new S9. They said it was "mine" at the time, and my insurance has paid for it in full. In 2 weeks, it will have been 1 year ago.

Follow-up testing determined that my mild obstructive apnea went away almost completely when I was allowed to sleep on my side. They also didn't have me hooked up to as many wires (testing for seizures the first time) so when I was on my side there wasn't anything wrapped around my neck.

After an ultrasound -- two huge Thyroid nodules. After getting my thyroid normal closer to level, I feel less tired during the day and sleep better at night. The closer we get to optimal range, the better I feel.

The problem is all these doctors who are supposed to be broad-spectrum, and they just really focus on the money makers. My neurologist tested my hormone levels, commented on how they were "high". And that was that --- sleep test and thousands of dollars to my insurance later "Here, sleep with this on your face". I wouldn't accept that answer. 25 years of documented severe insomnia (including cases were I was rushed to the hospital for having hallucinations after being awake for 3 days). And my issue was sleep apnea? No. 25 years of difficulty falling asleep and "here, strap this on, it will help". No, it made it worse -- more hospital visits after days with no sleep. She even told me not to use the mouth guard and that the surgery never works -- just to get me to agree to the machine.

Anyway, I got the answer I wanted. I just want to end this by saying: If you feel tired all the time. If you've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, and Depression or Bi-Polar --- please press about getting Thyroid testing done. No matter what machine you use or pressure you use -- it won't fix thyroid issues. The longer they go untreated, the more damage done to your body. Thanks guys!

Just my 2cents, but I think if you sell a script unit to someone without a script and something goes wrong. You could be held liable. I agree that the secondary market is the only hope for some people. Sadly some people will self medicate without enough knowledge of the problem.
