That template is for the Quattro with forehead piece. I think the FX runs a little smaller. That is, if you were between a large and a medium with the template for the Straight Quattro then the correct size with the FX would be a medium. The Fx is designed to ride a little lower on the bridge of your nose. The FX is supposed to come with a plastic measuring device; however, my DME has never given me one.

You can kind of get an idea of sizing by holding the cushion to your face without the frame. It should fit comfortably over the bridge of your nose and the bottom should fall right into that indent between your lip and chin.

There was some talk in your other thread about chin straps. I attached a strap (the bottom of a Halo chin strap) to the upper straps of the FX - just where they attach to the mask, down under my chin/jaw. It wasn't too tight, it kept the mask from riding up, and it kept my mouth from dropping open below the mask. Worked pretty good.

Hi Jay, Thanks for that bit of information. The DME had that sizing tool but didn't give it to me with the FX either. I'll try to test things later tonight in the mirror with the mask but I'm guessing that it's riding up a bit too high on the bridge, thus promoting to the "upper" leaks over night as the pressure increases.

Thanks also about the description regarding the straps. I'm trying to get a picture of it, not sure I'm comprehending correctly but it's early yet and my brain is in a bit of a fog. The election results aren't helping matters.

Anyhoo, I didn't want to fight it last night so I used the Swift FX nasal pillows and had far less problems at least from what I can remember about the night. I'll have to check my reports yet.

Just think of a chin strap that attaches to the mask rather than going all the way over your head. Makes the FX work something like the Hans Rudolph
