We have all seen that the facts prove your personal interpretation of C-Flex was incorrect, but rather than acknowledging this and moving on as the rest of us have, you have decided to proceed with the personal attacks. There's no shame in being wrong about something. It happens to all of us. A simple, "Oh. Now I see. Thanks for clearing that up for me," would be sufficient. There's no sense taking your anger at being wrong out on any one particular individual. It is illogical to do so. So you made a mistake. Big deal. The important thing is, because of this thread and the research it caused us all to do, the factual information about C-Flex is now well-known. We can't argue with the facts.

The Respironics product managers stated the fact that the C-Flex setting was NOT equivalent to the actual pressure relief:

Many believe that the C-Flex setting is equivalent to the actual pressure relief (e.g., C-Flex Setting of 1 = 1 cm H2O pressure). This is not correct.

The old 2003 C-Flex brochure has been updated, the new 2005 brochure contains corrected graphs and

more accurately represents the indistinct pressure drop of C-Flex, dispelling the notion of a set 1cm drop per setting.

Much as it clearly pains you, Mr. Hutto's explanation happens to be factual and correct.

There is no "up to the setting" principle at all. The exhalation relief at a setting of "1" can be less than 1cm, it can be 1cm or it can be more than 1cm depending on the forcefulness of the beginning of exhalation. Let me state it again very clearly, the numeral "1" in the Cflex setting has not relation whatsoever to "1cm". It wasn't designed to be 1cm and it won't work out to be 1cm except once in a while by happenstance. It ain't 0cm to 1cm with a setting of "1", it ain't 0cm to 2cm with a setting of "2" and it ain't 0cm to 3cm with a setting of "3", no matter how many times or how forcefully you repeat it.

This is all about the facts, and those are the facts. Your personal vendetta against Mr. Hutto has nothing to do with the facts.

Well, given that the Guest posts in question include IMG tags with links to the web sites hosing the images it ain't exactly rocket science if someone wants to "go after" whoever posted the picture. It doesn't take IP address tracking and it doesn't take being a registered user. All it takes is looking at the post with the QUOTE button and you'll see who it is that's has the image on their site.

Now that is the first original post I've seen you post so far. Every other post has just been taking what someone else has already written and using the quote button over and over with more nonsense critiquing what was already said with your own interpretation of the facts. If they disabled your quote button you couldn't really say anything now could you?

The worst part of becoming a member here is knowing once you do you'll be PM'd by Hutto and some of these other yoyo's, now that is a scary thought.

Get out your dictionary and look up the words "context" and "discussion". Then meditate for a while on the possibility that some people like to actually exchange information and interact with each other rather than just spouting off random opinions. In fact, if you would take the trouble to actually read up on things and attempt to inhabit the same reality as the rest of the world you might have a chance of posting something helpful instead of misinformation. But if you have more fun just making stuff up on your own then by all means hold to your principles.

See, I actually read what other people here have to say and incorporate my own viewpoints into a shared train of thought. So if I'm reacting to something that someone else said, I'm going to include their comment so it's clear what I'm referencing. That works out a lot better than just spouting non-sequiturs about what idiots the rest of the world are and how it's all a plot to keep the little Guest down. I mean, if a product manager at Respironics says something about a Respironics product that contradicts what Guest says then he's obviously either mistaken or trying to lie to everyone about how his company's products work. That line of "reasoning" betrays a certain insular quality that is frankly beyond arrogant and fast approaching psychosis. (Note that in keeping with your request I refrained from quoting the idiotic assertion of your to which I just referred). You're welcome.

Whether or not that's true, the subject was worth investigating, and I think the thread is ending on a rather positive note. There are also some lessons here to be learned about personal attacks (like avoid them at all costs).

I, for one, enjoyed finding out the specifics on C-flex, and I truly enjoyed the Tigger stuff.

There are three kinds of Matter in the Universe. Matter, Anti-Matter and Don't Matter. C-Flex comes under Don't Matter.

It helps people become compliant and receieve the treatment they need. A lot more words were wasted here than it was worth. It doesn't Matter how it works, what matters is it does work for most people, like I said other than that, it's Don't Matter. Jim
