I guess you're happy now, Chicago Granny. Did either of you stop to think that this has little to do with Amazon, and that he/she could be plain exhausted from not getting enough restorative sleep? I've seen far worse rants on this forum. Enough already.

Thank you EMS for sticking up for me. It is greatly appreciated.
You're on target but I am not going to elaborate for obvious reasons.
It is pretty sad it seems to be acceptable to flame people on this thread plus other ones I have seen such as calling someone an idiot. Then again, I simply have to keep in mind the supportive people who have helped me so much with their support. One of them has a huge deserving thread.

Hi 49er, I just caught up with this thread. i've seen some sharp and insensitive comments from CG in the past, but her snipes on this thread are among her nastiest and most disresepectful. And the applause video is a grossly immature gesture. Shame on her.
There actually was a time when Amazon took phone orders, I do remember ordering books on the phone from them. I have gotten help from them on the phone when there has been a problem, though they don't make it easy to find their customer support phone number. It's one thing to not take phone orders in general, but I would hope that phone support would always be available when a customer needs to straighten out an order, be it the customer's error or Amazon's error (both of which I've dealt with). On another day, with another rep, you might have had better luck getting the help you were asking for. I recently had to contact customer service at PayPal for a nonprofit website I was setting up. I made three calls with the same question, got a different rep each time, and got three completely different -- actually contradictory -- answers each time. At any rate, I'm glad you found a solution that you're more comfortable with.
I agree with you that when people on this forum get nasty and judgmental, you have to focus on the many folks -- and thankfully they are in the majority -- who are here to support and help and who, when they don't have anything nice to say or constructive to contribute, refrain from spitting and hissing and simply don't participate in that discussion.

Thanks Kaisgram for a very supportive post.
Oh my god, I had a horrible telephone experience with paypal. I feel your pain.

You're welcome, 49er. However, it's more than about sticking up for you. I just don't tolerate bullies... never have never will. Shame on ChicagoGranny is correct. Interesting, I never met an old lady bully. She must be such a joy to be around.

From what you post it sounds like you aspire to become an "old lady bully" and are using this thread for a little anonymous and safe practice.

Hmm Granny, you flame me and get called out on it by EMS, Kaisgram and myself. And you are accusing EMS of bullying you? That sounds like a typical bully to me who plays victim when confronted with their horrible behavior and doesn't want to take responsibility for their actions.

There is
no post so far supporting your original post whining about Amazon not taking orders by phone.
There are three who have jumped in to defend you personally because your whining makes you sound pitiful.
Here is the simple sentence I addressed to you,
Just order from someone besides Amazon and shut up your damn whining.
I still stand by the statement. No more, no less.
Man up 49er you young puppy! You are boring me.

I had drafted a post, but couldn't decide whether to get involved in this. Bully doesn't begin to cover your behavior. You should be ashamed of yourself. And I don't care how old you are, you need to do some serious growing up.
This is the post I drafted a few days ago, BEFORE CG's stupid comments.
49er,
I understand where you're coming from, even though I personally haven't had any issues with Amazon. When I HAVE had problems, I've chosen to use the "chat with a representative" method for resolving it, which has worked fine for me.
Your original post was done EXACTLY as it should have been, clearly marked OT with a very specific subject line. It was obvious that you were venting about Amazon and why. And you have the right to do so.
There ARE people in the world (yes, there are) that still prefer talking to a human being. I'm a big Amazon fan, and do find it a little upsetting that they refused to take an order over the phone. It won't change my dealings with them since I do it all online, but I found it interesting.
I think those that are ragging on you have too much time on their hands. If this is the best thing they can find to bitch about, they don't know what real problems are.
So there! There's the support of his position. Sorry to 49er for not posting it beforehand.

Huh? You call that support for his position on "live telephone operators" to take orders?
Sounds like evidence against his position!
Well we all know he had a stupid idea. We are now just arguing about whether a few of you can shame me badly for calling him out on his silly whining.
It was silly whining when he wrote it and it is still silly whining today. Or has he abandoned his original position?

Oh CG -- you are obviously either incapable of reading or choosing to ignore what you don't like.
Even if I don't personally do things by phone, by respecting HIS right to want to do it that way IS support of his position.
Like I said before -- grow up. You're behaving worse than a high school girl with a bad attitude. Give yourself a timeout -- you seriously need it.

The more I think about, I think I'd like to suggest to CG that she check her cpap therapy. Perhaps inadequate treatment is causing her to behave the way she is.
I guess I'll assume that's the reason and give her a pass. I'd hate to believe her therapy is optimum and she still behaves this way.

Madalot... you are very kind... but please don't give her permission to continue to be a bully. Since it's apparent that this is how she gets her kicks and giggles, let's just end this thread. Hopefully, this will give her time to adjust her cpap therapy... or not.

For you, because you asked so politely, I'll stop posting in this thread and let it die out.
I may have to "bite my fingers" over any more stupid posts, but I promise you, I will give it my best effort. I may have 10 bandaids on my hands, but....
I suspect you are right and cpap therapy or no, CG is just one of "those" people that people like us (polite and reasonable) will never win with. So, might as well not even bother trying to reason with them.
I cannot understand the mentality of going into a thread, where the subject matter is VERY specific, then ragging on the poor poster. I go into a handful of threads, skipping many that either don't apply to me, I don't feel I can help because I'm not familiar with the subject, OR I figure are going to piss me off, so it doesn't make sense to bother with them.
Seems a lot of people today don't give a crap about the some of the basic rules of courtesy. If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. And how about "do unto others?" It's astounding to me how people are throwing those basic courtesies out the window.
