Eric, let it go. It speaks for itself. Not worth your time or effort. Responding just keeps it going.

BTW, you can put annoying people in a "foes" list under your Control Panel, although I prefer to think of it as a Twit List. Anyone remember SLMR (Silly Little Mail Reader)? I wonder whether that still exists.

Yeah you are right. Thanks for the friend or foe thing.

I was wondering, does anyone know if there is a best time to use the gel form. Should you use it at night or in the morning. I can't seem to find the answer and don't see my doc for a few months, at the present I use it at night.

A.M. is best, that way less will transfer to the bed and, if so blessed the wife. It's something you need to keep on yourself, not the family. Jim

My problem, after taking 20 pills and a injection, eating I forget to put it on.

You put the stuff on in the AM. Testosterone is a stimulant. You are not doing yourself a favor putting it on at night because it is a stimulant and a powerful stimulant at that. Your doctor should have told you when you put it on. Also the monograph inserts and online videos for the various gels tell you when and how to put it on. Androgel has a real good video of how to put the stuff on. I dont know what you are using, Androgel, Testim, Axiron or whatever. But all you put on in the AM.

If I put Androgel on at night, Id be up all night long and would not be able to sleep at night.

The weird thing is that you apply Androderm (the patch) in the evening, and all the gels are in the morning.

Thanks for the help. I was on the patch which as you say, you do at night, so I have been doing the gel at night, as I didn't see anything that said anything different. Thanks. The AM it is then. I don't have a lady in my life, so I don't have to worry about the ladies growing facial hair as some of you. LOL

Thanks again,

Mike

I have been on testosterone shots now since November. Got my testosterone level up into the 600s. Thats the highest my testosterone has been since its ever been tested, first time it was tested was in late 2002 or late 2003. I notice some mild improvement in my libido. I notice my erections are harder. I dont feel 25 again though. Back then I could get a big hard massive erection at the drop of a hat.

Im self injecting. Doctor ordered that I learn to self inject testosterone cypionate. I shoot it into my quadriceps.

I started on 1 cc shots every two weeks a few months ago and felt better the next day. After about 6 weeks felt great. The anxiety at night skyrocketed and my AHI went from 1 to 5. I cut back to 1/2cc and crashed. Then back on 1cc and after awhile the anxiety even with benzos at night is brutal.
I've seen lots of the warnings about "can increase OSA etc" but the only answer that I ever got from the doc was--it affects the fight/flight system. There has to be a better medical answer has anyone received a better explanation about why?

Also would apprecitate any comments regarding finding the right dosage--I feel like a damn yo-yo. Before T shots I slept 8-9 hours and felt like burnt toast in the morning. Now it's 5 or 6 hours of fragmented sleep with better energy, but wired.
More energy yes! More wired yes! There is no free lunch is CPAP Land.

I too was on the 1mg every two weeks, but crashed in about 10 days. My doctor tried .5mg every 7 days, but said my level was a little high to his liking. He then set my dosage at .4mg every 7 days. I have been on this dosage for several years now, and feel great.

I've used T enanthate injections since the mid 80's. Sleep apnea didn't show up until the new century so no correlation in my life anyways...

Women go on testosterone therapy, as well. But don't worry, I have nothing further to say on the subject. (For now.)

I know this is an old thread but I'm tired of the ignorance people have on this subject. I'm a female on testosterone therapy and I not just for "sexual reasons".

I'm on testosterone therapy, because my testosterone levels are low for a female...I'm in my 30's, and my testosterone levels are in the post menopausal range, and it causes me all of the symptoms that men with low testosterone have, only relative to other women. Relative to other women I have low muscle mass, and make almost no progress with any workout. Relative to other women, I have no ambition...or "aggressiveness" if you prefer that term, and this has made me fairly non-functional, and has caused me problems as work. Relative to other women my age, I have low bone density because women create estrogen by converting testosterone, and relative to other women my age, I do have a low libido, in fact, too low to sustain a relationship, which not only leaves me lonely, but the man I would otherwise have a relationship with lonely.

The average bioavailable testosterone level for a woman is 7.7 ng/dL. That might not sound like much, but it's sufficient for most women because the estrogen the rest has been converted to usually picks up the slack as far as mood, bone density, and libido goes.

My bioavailable testosterone level was 0.9 ng/dL.

For comparison, that's 11.7% of the average value. That's like a man my age having a bioavailable testosterone level of 18ng/dL.

My total testosterone levels are also low, and because of this, I cannot produce enough estrogen, and am also on estrogen therapy.

Men also produce estrogen, and low estrogen levels have been indicated in some symptoms of hypogonadism in some males. Normal estradiol levels for males overlap with normal levels on the low end for females btw.

This notion that estrogen is a female hormone, and testosterone is a male hormone is a misconception that needs to go. They are both human hormones and to function at their prime, both men and women need testosterone and estrogen to be within normal range for their respective age and sex.

I don't know yet the cause of my low testosterone levels but premature ovarian failure is a concern, and I'm currently on four different hormones because I cannot maintain consistent levels and keep experiencing sudden drops which result in horrible headaches that NSAIDS wouldn't get rid of, among other things men don't like to hear about. Three of the hormones got the some of the other things men don't like to hear about under control, but I was still having the headaches until I went on the testosterone.

Testosterone is also prescribed for post menopausal women to help with bone density, etc, who cannot go on straight estrogen due to an increased cancer risk.

I hope by now, you are feeling better and have your "aggressiveness" back, and that you can better appreciate the importance of healthy hormone levels in both men and women.
