Well, yes and no. Depending on which ref you look at.

I appreciate the spirit of everyones' posts. But I'm getting myself confused about how anyone is going to be able to make a thread about nothing something that can be hijacked. I'm still hoping someone can find a way. If any forum can do it, WE can!

Having just made my fifth post in a row in this thread, I believe I have disqualified myself from further participation in it, OP or not.

I participated in another forum several years ago that had a permanent OT thread that was a hoot! Looking back on it, I believe one of the good things about it was that it quickly got noobs involved in all the conversations and as they became familiar with all of us and we with them, we really became a more closely knit community. It was nice to have a place to talk about miscellaneous stuff without having to create a whole new thread. It was neat!

Yes most forums I have participated in also had something like that. It was usually called "The Inn" where people introduced themselves, played silly games, and such. Some poster would make up incredible descriptions of the inn interior and exterior, the bar tenders and servers.
I can see it now - our inn "Ye olde Hoser Pub" It never closes and it has a lively night life as cpap insomnia, mask leaks and rain out drive people to belly up to the bar for some favourite, virtual but non-system depressing drinks and chat. In the back ground is a pick up band of the "Leakers", using mask farts, didgeridoos and other sound creating objects to create original music. There is a TV running videos of people sleeping happily with their xpaps.
Behind the bar is a wall sculpture made up off hundreds of masks, liners and hoses.
In the garden is a nice terrace or those of us who enjoy a more bistro like atmosphere where we can indulge in a nice cappuccino and gluten-free croissant or a nice Paleo roast beast with virgin spring water.
Behind the hedge is a workout space with a running track and pool.

I am good about accomplishing nothing so I can contribute my nothingness. In order to hijack the thread, I think I would have to post about something rather than commenting on nothing. OK, here's something:
(oh, wait, that was still nothing)
OK, try again: Today's sun spot number is 121.

Max,
That looks like classic periodic sunspotting to me:

I think that explains a lot and is likely something that should be looked into further (with proper protective eyewear, of course).
Thanks for posting that link. Spot on.

I think the sun is having breathing events. Needs a CPAP ASAP, chap. (CPAP = Coronal Positive Astronomical Pressure)
