Many variables to consider:
type/amount of soap, temperature/hardness of water, length of time in wash water,
amount and vigor of cleaning process, etc.
We have enough for a challenging study.
I'd say don't throw out the baby shampoo; if it's tearless, you can use it on other things,
how about the dog, especially a little doggie.

I've been washing my Advanced in Baby Shampoo daily since I started using it. I only use a tiny bit. Haven't had any problems with my mask. I have a full large bottle of it too. Guess I'll switch to our Ivory dishwashing detergent. I too don't like the strong smell of Tide. To the SleepWeaver rep: Is it okay to dry the mask in the CPAP dryer? (and the featherweight tube?)
Thanks.

Or, plain Ivory soap, I guess.

My Solution with the SleepWeaver Elan: I just haven't washed the damn thing yet at all and now I likely won't.

I use no-name hand soap - a very little bit on my hands then rub it all over - and haven't had a problem. I wash it about once a week. I've put it in the washer once w/o any problems. I use Tide powder in the washer.

I wash mine by hand every morning, in warm water and just a little bit of Method unscented,
rinse well, and hang up in the shower to dry. If I forget, the seal is not so good.
In a hurry, I clip it to the front of a fan--dry in minutes.
