Haha! I've created my first pole here! (*insert sarcasm*)

This would indicate that once the month of September is over ... So is the pole ...

Yep! That is currently the plan.

EDIT: (I'm whispering now)
Tell the truth, Lazer; this was never really about the bug, but the 'pole' pun and the naughty image.
You are such a boy!

Just some technical tips:
If you want to stop animated images (i.e., GIF) from moving on a web in your browser, all you have to do is hit "escape". That's in most browsers, Chrome is the only exception I know of that doesn't do it, but there are extensions you can install for that purpose. Flash-based animations are tougher but since flash is such a major security threat, anyway, (many websites display 1x1 pixel flash objects that you can't see to track you), I disabled the flash add-on on my browser for all websites, except for those where I want to use it (fairly simple to do). Javascript animations are tougher, I haven't found an easy way to stop those permanently yet, but you can stop them temporarily by right-clicking anywhere on the page (frame). Of course, you can remove all images on a page by using a utility (like the outdated but still working Bayden IE Toys
http://www.bayden.com/ietoys/), or selectively, using a script (like the Printliminator
http://css-tricks.com/examples/ThePrintliminator/).
I hope this helps.

I hadn't voted, but was reading this OT thread for the yucks - pretty entertaining.
Then, when I walked away from the puter to get a drink, hubby spotted the bug on the monitor, thought it was real, got the swatter and thwacked it good!! I'm still laughing out loud as I type.
Oh, I voted to keep the bug - lets' see if hubby can be fooled more than once.
Cheers,

Lazer - I am not bothered by the bug in the least, except that I know there are members of the forum for whom this is a problem. Personally, I don't care one way or the other. My concern is for those people who have vision troubles with this kind of thing. That's the only reason I have posted anything on this thread.
Many people are now voting just to aggravate AVI123 and that is there only motivation for them.

Yup!
And, if so many of us are on his Foe list, how can he be reading our posts? I thought if you were on someone's Foe list, that you wouldn't be able to read their posts i.e., if Lazer is on his Foe list how can he see that adorable, precious, sweet bug?
I'll put 123 on my Foe list and see what happens... stay tuned.

What you'll see is that
1) When someone on your Foe list has posted something -- You'll see a notation that the person has posted something, with the option to ignore or display that individual post. So if your curiosity gets the best of you, you can just click and see the post -- my guess is that's what happened to Avi. Maybe he couldn't stand that we were carrying on without him.
And 2) You will see what a "Foe" has written if another poster quotes them and includes that quote in their post -- the system doesn't block those parts of other people's posts. But since lazer is supposedly on Avi's foe list, there would have been no reason for him to even be reading the thread in the first place. I think in this case what happened is that first thing...

I've yet to use that "Foe" list feature on anyone. I have used the friends one though.

I was tempted to 'foe' 123 at one time, but find him wildly entertaining, although somewhat irritating.
I have only used that feature on 'he whose name we dare not speak'.

OMG -- it works. All this fuss and all any of us had to do was hit [ESCAPE] -- such a simple solution!

Seriously! Problem solved! Lazer I think this pretty much resolves the issue -- leave your bug and let people enjoy it or press ESCAPE to make it stop moving. Simple. Done. You can even put a note under the bug about how to make him stop moving in case someone doesn't know about the ESCAPE button.
Now the only question is how will we continue cutting up and entertaining ourselves now that this matter is resolved?
