Definitely! I'm only 3 1/2 months into this, but I have never experienced anything like that. Even when I sneezed into the mask, it wasn't that wet. And I definitely pulled it off and dried it. I will also wake up if I drool as I do not like any wetness in my mask. I have learned how to stick a kleenex in there and dry that without having to readjust the mask (which means getting up and starting over).

With discussions like this, I keep thinking I need to send a thank you card to the sleep tech who did my study. She was awesome, and I know she helped me get off to a good start. She picked the perfect mask for me, so even after I got it and had trouble fitting it, I knew it would fit once I mastered it. I slept pretty well in both phases of the study, and I did not expect to. And I felt great the next day, so I was anxious to get started.

That expression says it all!!!

I think a copy of this picture would be a nice addition to your file at the sleep clinic.

Sorry gang. Today was brutal. Shortly after posting that I was working on setting rhinestones on my mask, I had to step out and I didn't return back until midnight. It's almost 4am now and I finally finished it. I'll tweak it more tomorrow, but I wanted to post pictures since I had promised. Here's my Swift FX with rhinestones and a soft grey set of cheek pads and hose cover. The grey cover can come off and be washed.

Here you can see the pink rhinestones at the bottom of the hose to look like an elephant's nose.

No photos with the mask yet, but I just had my sleep study, and OMG all the wires!

After this, there were even more, plus probes up my nose. What you can't see are two probes on each calf and one on each upper thigh.

Great thread. I'll post a mask picture soon enough.

I HATE having my picture taken and I really don't like posting it, but since so many have taken up the dare, here is one with the Aloha. This is usually accompanied with a taped mouth but I had to take a break from taping.....blisters all around my mouth. Ouch!!! After the blisters heal, I'll try MOM on the area before taping unless someone has a better solution.

Xney, I am LOVING the fact that you are using your CPAP mask face as your avatar!!! Flippin' fantastic! Dude, I'd think your lips would be raw from all of that tape every night. I don't know how you do it.

BTW, I took the elephant stuff off of my CPAP mask before bed. I love you guys and I did that just for you. I made a simple pad and hose set for myself and I put it on after that picture. Something that wrinkly would annoy the crap out of you after a while but I wanted it to look like a wrinkly elephant. LOL The devil is in the details man. The rhinestones are permanent since I applied them carefully with epoxy glue. It took forever and was harder to do than it looked to make it look nice, but worth it.

I hope you guys all have a great weekend! Thank you for all the pictures you have been posting for me! You're all rockstars! <3 xoxo, Angela

PS- I just noticed that at the very bottom of the Overview tab on SleepyHead, there is a graph called Zombie. I shit you not, ZOMBIE!!! The hell?!? Wazzat for? Anybody??? Curious minds like mine wanna' know!! Braaaaiiiiinnnnnnnsssssssssss!!!!!

You put chap stick on your lips before you put on the tape, won't stick to your lips.

There's a zombie meter (I shit you not!) at the bottom of the Notes section under the Daily tab. Actually it's a "How I'm Feeling" slider that goes from "zombie" setting to "awesome" or any point in between. I hadn't even noticed it until you pointed it out, but it's a nice feature -- easier and quicker than keeping a journal, and you can easily look at trends over time. Thanks for spotting that!

This has to be the most popular thread of all time... or on its way! I missed a couple of days and now the questions I'm answering are pages back! At any rate, I'll avoid mentioning pugsy at all in this post. Oops!

I really would like to try a cloth mask when I can afford to buy one just to see if I can tolerate it. I'm one of those with a hard time with anything covering the nose completely. I admit that it sounds less frightening than a plastic mask though. The fact he said he can scratch his nose through it sounds awesome!!
Well, it can't compare to the rhinestones and stretchy elephant camo, but being able to scratch your nose through the cloth mask is completely awesome. On the nights I've tried to sleep with the plastic mask, I can't tell you how many times I wake up then feel that little tickle. SleepWeavers are easy to try out. Cpap.com and some other internet suppliers are offering them with free 30-day guarantees. I just ordered the Elan and am returning my Advance, just to see which one I like better. The headgear might be more comfortable with the Elan. So there's no risk in trying it out. Even if you can't afford to buy one now, you could try one out to see if it was something you liked.
Tino2You asked
Cheryl, any idea when the FF Dreamweaver will be released? You got inside skinnys?
I actually called the company twice and got the same answer -- no date yet but working on it. They advised me to join SleepWeaver group on Facebook since they would be announcing it there.
MrPresident says
BTW is "DreamWeaver" and "SleepWeaver" the same or is Dreamweaver different cloth mask?
It's SleepWeaver, not DreamWeaver -- I keep making the same mistake. That darned Gary Wright song keeps popping up in my brain! I don't think there is a CPAP mask called "DreamWeaver"... but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!
I really do like the Sleepweaver BUT I am having a lot of leaks. Not around the mask but through my mouth.
I'm really surprised I'm not mouthbreathing. I'm wondering if the CPAP therapy itself has changed the way I breathe. I used to have almost constant nasal congestion but haven't had any for the last month while wearing the mask. Very cool! But I'm still on a quest to find a full face plastic mask I can tolerate (at least until the SleepWeaver is available in a full face version.

And everything could change. I'm going back to the sleep lab tonight. At my 30-day checkup, my doctor thought I was having too many Central Apneas and probably needed an auto-adjust VPAP or BPAP. (I'm still not too clear about these). I don't know if the SleepWeaver mask will work with that or not...

AbbyNormal... to heck with all that bling stuff. What's important is how much more comfortable you look with the Swift FX for Her!!! Definitely looks like this is gonna work for you.

How are you doing with it... I might have missed that part.

Yeah, but BLING!!!! Tee hee!! I am sleeping. ZOMG, I'm SLEEPING!!! People, you just don't understand. At most I would sleep two hours at a time before this. No lie. The boyfriend said he didn't know how I functioned. I've done this as long as I can remember though. A nightmare would wake me up and I'd be too afraid to go back to sleep. I'd get up and that would be that. The nightmares have slowed down by about 85% or so. It's crazy. They all told me I had PTSD. (lots of bad stuff in my past) Nope, it was my brain trying to wake me up because I wasn't breathing!!! The body truly is an amazing thing.

My AHI and leaks are still high, but I think when I have new nasal pillows one size up, that might stop. And yes, it's comfy and not scary and just a lifesaver!!!! And the bling is just my way of making something bad into something funny. Keep these pictures and posts coming gang. You don't know what it adds to my day. I noticed one disappeared on us. A pretty blonde lady had posted one of herself with blue tubing of some sort on the side. Please don't be embarrassed and take your posts down (if that's even what happened). This is all in fun and there are a lot of insane masks and contraptions on here. Post up bitchez!! LOL (Sorry, I'm like R. Lee Ermey and kinda' salty, but sweet!!)

I'm glad so many of you are getting a kick out of this thread. It helps to find the fun in this. We should post the morning after pics next. Ratty bedhead and all. LOL Wheee!!

PS- The boyfriend said we could try moving my CPAP stuff into his room and try sleeping together. Wish me luck!!! I'm nervous. VERY nervous. *bites nails*
