If she is going to put the dehumidified waste water into "your" CPAP, then you have too much life insurance..

Maxie wrote:I've read recently that water from air conditioner condensation is not good for plants. So I would not even think about putting water from a dehumidifier near my head as in my humidifier, I wouldn't even put it on my plants.
Someone would have to explain to me the logic of this danger to plants. I have watered many a plant with it.
Where did you read this? Was an explanation offered?

Its not distilled water, its condensate and it needs to be disposed of in a drain. As posted before you can get quite sick from it. Check your local plumbing codes, it must be disposed of properly. It will disolve copper pipe. It has a low pH. nasty stuff it is.

Definitely a "no" after I just scrubbed and bleached the buckets from our dehumidifiers because they had a not-so lovely slime growing in them. Ack!!

Let her drink a few glasses of it and see if she still thinks it's a good idea.
Or simply let her clean the dehumidifier coils and tank a few times.
I remember someone asking if you could use it for cleaning contact lenses.

Several years ago, somebody came up with a novelty water fountain that
filtered and dispensed drinking water condensed from the air.
I suspect it is no more. Go figure.
