Hi,
New to all this. Picked up S9 autoset this afternoon, and Mirage FX seemed to fit best.
Now that I'm home, I noticed some airflow around the front of the mask (no where near my face) but where the elbow joins the actual mask.
Is this to be expected? I was expecting everything to be completely sealed when operating...
thanks!

Re: Newbie - Mirage FX and air near elbow joint
All masks will leak some. You will notice there is a circle of tiny holes in your mask. That is to let the air that you exhale out. Leaks on that mask tend to blow into your eyes or around the bottom edge.

Redcoat,
That is where the FX vents... It is perfectly normal.

If it almost feels like little pinpricks of air on your fingers, it is the normal venting. If it's a more constant stream, the cushion may have come loose a bit. You can gently pull the elbow away from your face to reseat the cushion.

Re: Newbie - Mirage FX and air near elbow joint
the same leak mention is definitely at elbow where it connects to mask... I have new and old elbows and mask the leak same with each... the little vent holes around work just fine... I can cup my hands/fingers around elbow and it stops leak/sound coming from air leak... I think the elbow isn't long enough to properly tight fit hole... looking on inside mask I can see it doesn't come through rubber seal inside.. it does leak... faulty elbow design????
